Are you into communications and want to make an impact? Don’t look further, we have an internship that brings both together. The selected candidate will be a key support in developing and organizing content, internal events, content strategy & execution.

The internship

During this challenging and versatile internship, you will work for two teams: Global Channels (part of Global Communications) and the HEINEKEN Africa Foundation.

The HEINEKEN Africa Foundation’s purpose is to support Africa’s smallholder farmer communities in building their resilience. Our mission is to connect smallholder farmers with the right resources and networks so they can develop and grow their farms. We do this via funding projects in the Sub-Saharan African countries where HEINEKEN operates. The overall management of the Foundation is done from HEINEKEN headquarters in Amsterdam.

As an intern, your focus areas will include:

  • HEINEKEN Africa Foundation:
    • Help shape the communication plan for 2026, and create content for our communication channels
    • Build and implement a plan for our image bank
    • Organise an internal event to create awareness for our Foundation
  • Global Channels:
    • Social media content strategy & execution
    • Creating content
    • Building AI agents
    • Digital Asset Management

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Première Pro) is a big plus
  • Strong written & verbal communications skills
  • A pragmatic approach with a can-do mentality
  • You must be enrolled in a Bachelor/Master studies for the entire duration of the internship
  • In case of a non-EU nationality, it is mandatory that the intern is enrolled at a Dutch university and therefore has a legitimate work permit with student status which will not expire during the duration of the internship
  • Students outside of the EU must be registered at a university in the Netherlands
  • You must have a BSN number before the start of the internship, for tax and payroll purposes

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during your onboarding.
    1. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
    2. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  2. You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
  3. You are in possession of a valid citizen service number (BSN).

Our Internship Conditions

  • A full-time practice-oriented internship, starting on February 1, 2026
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (to be agreed upon with your internship supervisor)
  • At HEINEKEN, we work with a hybrid model, typically spending three days a week at the office and two days working from home
  • You will receive a monthly internship allowance of €650 gross based on a 40-hour workweek
  • You will earn 2 vacation days per month (based on a full-time internship)
  • If you do not have a public transport student subscription, your commuting costs will be fully reimbursed
