Within the Global Business Development Team in Amsterdam, a new opportunity has opened up for a Senior Business Development Manager. This role is designed to lead and grow our direct and indirect multinational business.

Unit Description
The Global Business Unit is responsible for growing and servicing a portfolio of large multinational accounts. With teams in 35 countries we provide a unique service concept, combining one central negotiation contact with local service to each of the customer’s local subsidiaries.

Global has demonstrated significant growth since its inception; it now represents a portfolio exceeding €500 million. We have a ‘solution selling’ approach and focus purely on multinationals. It is a dynamic environment in which you will work with colleagues worldwide.

The Business Development team forms part of the Global Sales team, a specialized multicultural team based in Amsterdam, responsible for the development of the existing portfolio, executing the Global Sales strategy, pursuing sales opportunities and developing non-standard solutions. The team is responsible for multiple regions directly and supports transactions throughout the world.

Job description and responsibilities

In the role, you will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with brokers in The Netherlands and other markets. You will work together with team members on large international opportunities and support in expanding existing programs. The role will offer responsibilities in the prospecting, structuring and closing of international business in the Global target market through self-started initiatives and working in deal-team structures. You will meet with, and promote our product to, large multinational companies and are responsible for structuring and presenting the Atradius Global offering.

  • Lead engagement strategy in the Netherlands, with a view to scaling across other regions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, ensuring alignment with Atradius’ strategic goals.
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities, structuring and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Organize and represent Atradius at broker events, industry forums, and client meetings.
  • Monitor market trends and broker performance, adjusting strategy as needed.

This job will involve occasional travel (national and international).

Job Requirements

  • Are a self-starting, multicultural, team-player, able to work alongside others to provide the optimal solution for our prospects and clients.
  • Have an understanding of policy structures and an excellent appreciation of negotiating and closing a sale.
  • Have existing commercial experience or affiliation with the Trade Credit Insurance market.
  • Have a proven track-record in initiating, managing and closing large international market submissions.
  • Are able to monitor and steer commercial and risk developments, being comfortable in a customer facing role.
  • Developed interpersonal and presentation skills in a confident and persuasive manner, setting the agenda and leading negotiations internally and externally.
  • Have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English and a strong command of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Teams).
