Great opportunity for datatalents in the aquaculture industry!

About The Kingfish Company

The Kingfish Company is a fast-growing leader in sustainable, land-based Yellowtail Kingfish production using advanced RAS technology. From our farm in Zeeland, we supply premium quality fish to Europe and the United States with full transparency, proven sustainability, and a commitment to building the future of responsible aquaculture. As we grow, our mission remains clear: shape a resilient and sustainable seafood supply chain for the next generation.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a Business Analyst & Planner who will hold a central role across the organisation. Embedded within the core operating rhythm, you will coordinate planning across Finance, Production and Commercial, aligning biological realities, sales forecasts and operational decisions. You will make sure the right product is available at the right time, optimise how we harvest and sell fish, and support key business decisions with clear data-driven insights. This is a role for someone who enjoys numbers, systems and modelling, but also wants to understand the underlying biological production dynamics and business context. You will report to the Production Data & Training Manager but also work closely with the Head of Production, CFO, and Commercial Director.

What You’ll Do

  • Integrated Sales & Production Planning
    • Lead and further develop the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
    • Build and maintain rolling forecasts that reflect biomass availability, commercial priorities and production constraints.
    • Align planning decisions across departments and ensure disciplined execution.
  • Analysis, Modelling & Insight
    • Analyse biological asset cycles (growth, yield, size distribution, mortality, FCR) and translate them into actionable business insights.
    • Model commercial and production planning scenarios to support prioritisation and strategic decision-making.
    • Monitor variances vs. plan and recommend course corrections.
  • Technology, Systems & AI-Driven Optimisation
    • Drive continuous improvement of planning tools, production systems and forecasting models.
    • Support the development and implementation of AI-based planning, prediction and optimisation capabilities.
    • Promote digital discipline and evidence-based decision-making throughout the organisation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
    • Serve as the planning “hub” across teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.
    • Communicate insights clearly and diplomatically, balancing firmness and collaboration.
    • Help avoid silos by fostering shared understanding across operations, sales and finance.

Your Profile

  • You are analytical, structured, curious, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where biology and business meet.
  • A degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, Biology/Aquaculture, or a related field.
  • Experience in planning, business analysis, operations or supply chain (experience with biological or food systems is a plus).
  • Strong affinity with numbers and technology—ERP, planning tools, forecasting models, Excel/Power BI, and ideally interest in advanced analytics or AI.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence respectfully and keep alignment across stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes and systems.
  • And importantly, you are motivated by contributing to a sustainable and forward-looking food value chain.

What We Offer

  • A visible and influential role in a fast-growing, purpose-led organisation.
  • The opportunity to shape planning processes and pioneer digital and AI-driven forecasting in a unique biological production environment.
  • A collaborative culture where initiative, curiosity and ownership are valued.
  • Hybrid working possibilities and 80–100% employment depending on preference.
