Your role:

  • Work on projects that combine product ownership activities, project management, and use case development, leveraging experience in coding (e.g. Python, R, Databricks) and database knowledge (e.g. SQL, Qlik, PowerBI).
  • Partner with business teams to understand their data needs and challenges, translating requirements into well-defined technical specifications and actionable data solutions.
  • Take on the role of Product Owner for requirements definition where required.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of data engineering and AI capabilities within the team by evaluating emerging technologies, optimizing processes, and driving innovation to deliver value-added solutions to the organization.
  • Oversee the analysis of large and complex datasets, support building AI models to uncover key insights, and guide business decisions.
  • Direct the development and implementation of efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Be involved in the building and deployment of AI models in production environments, ensuring adherence to best practices for security, scalability, and model explainability, and oversee ongoing monitoring and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure initiatives adhere to regulatory standards, privacy policies, and ethical guidelines in the collection, storage, and use of data assets in line with organizational policies.
  • Provide documentation of data pipelines, models, and processes, ensuring clarity, maintainability, and effective knowledge transfer within the team and across departments.
  • Lead hands-on troubleshooting efforts for data quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective solutions.
  • When needed, coordinate with external service providers for detailed analysis, ensuring work meets business needs.
  • You must currently be living in The Netherlands (relocation will not be provided for this role).

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Econometrics, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree OR minimum 3 years of experience with a Master's degree in areas such as Data Handling, Data Analytics, AI Modeling, or equivalent experience in complex transformation programs where you have played a key role in driving the project through completion.

Experience:

  • Experience using programming languages such as Python, and experience in data analytics and data visualization.
  • Experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager in a technical IT or AI-oriented environment.
  • Experience or affinity for working in Agile environments and the ability to support Scrum teams.
  • Ability to effectively engage and manage senior stakeholders to foster strong partnerships with the Data and AI team.
  • Experience in AI algorithm development is appreciated.
