About Moonlit

Moonlit is Europe's leading AI-powered legal research platform. From our headquarters in Amsterdam, we build tools that help legal professionals work faster, smarter, and with greater confidence. Think AI-driven assistants, semantic search, and Europe's largest legal database.

Our mission?

Make legal information more efficient, transparent, and accessible: for everyone.

The role

As a Data/AI Engineer at Moonlit, you'll build the data layer that powers our platform used daily by lawyers, judges, and policymakers. Our users are at the highest levels and demand quality. You'll design and implement data pipelines, AI systems, and scalable infrastructure that directly impact how legal information is processed, enriched, and made accessible. We develop enterprise and governmental grade software.

  • Integrate and deploy LLMs from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google into production systems
  • Develop scalable AI APIs using frameworks like Pydantic AI and llama-index
  • Work with vector databases and Elasticsearch for semantic search capabilities
  • Add new legal data sources and enrich existing datasets
  • Optimize existing data pipelines for performance and reliability
  • Manage infrastructure across Azure
  • Collaborate with platform developers, business stakeholders, and UX professionals

Data & AI ownership

  • Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data transformation workflows
  • Experience working with LLMs and AI frameworks (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar)
