How will you contribute and grow in this role?

Air Liquide’s NCE cluster team is a young and dynamic group of six people, composed of women and men from diverse cultural (multinational) and educational backgrounds (STEM, legal, political science). The team is responsible for managing applications and overseeing European and national-level subsidies for energy transition projects of Air Liquide and its customers. Currently, the team manages innovative projects in several EU countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. As a key business partner in Air Liquide’s energy transition projects, the subsidy team’s work is closely connected to other teams across the organization. During the execution of world-scale projects, almost all departments inside Air Liquide are involved, allowing you to quickly learn more about the organization and build a strong internal network.

The main working language within the team is English, with colleagues also speaking Dutch (2 + 3 learning), German (1), and French (1 + 1 learning). Within the broader company, many people speak French, Dutch, and English. The funding department has grown rapidly in recent years, both in staffing and especially in the number of projects managed. This growth has created opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.

As a Continuous Improvement Analyst for Funding, you will work closely with the rest of the funding department to design and futureproof processes to support the management of very large energy transition projects.

  • Design processes and templates for funding applications and projects, ensuring proper implementation and utilization to enable funding compliance
  • Create and implement databases/filing systems to track complex multi-year projects
  • Design and implement a project management structure (SaaS solution)
  • Utilize AI solutions to increase team productivity by automating and supporting repetitive tasks
  • Create training materials and facilitate trainings about funding (compliance) to the broader organization

Challenges you will face:

  • Working both independently and collaboratively with Air Liquide experts and managers
  • Translating diffuse input (legal, experience, existing setups, etc.) into concrete procedures and processes
  • Communicating detailed ideas in comprehensible ways, utilizing digital tools
  • Gathering information internally and externally, by performing interviews or requesting information
  • Being aware of deadlines, and working towards them in a structured manner
  • Reading and interpreting funding program or legal regulations

Why Join Us?

Supported by our young and talented funding team, you’ll grow in an international company and develop a broad spectrum of skills such as teamwork in an international environment, process improvement, project development, public funding, business control, and more. You will simultaneously develop a good understanding of the workings inside an industrial gas company. This position is a great opportunity to step into the Air Liquide world, build a large network, and use it as a stepping stone towards new challenges within the company.

Are you the right person for this role?

We are looking for someone who can quickly understand and analyze complex processes, and then create structure in a practical way, enabling optimizations. You should be comfortable working towards deadlines, proactive, and open to new challenges. Even if you do not meet all the requirements, we encourage you to apply if you are interested.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Master’s degree, preferably in a technical field
  • Team player: experience with diverse teams with multidisciplinary, international, and junior/senior team members
  • Affinity with IT systems: project management systems, AI, Google Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical skills: understanding and structuring complex processes
  • Communication skills: strong written and verbal communication
  • Willing to take ownership: feels responsible and accountable for their deliverables
  • Languages: fluent English is a hard requirement; French or Dutch is a plus
