Lead Complex Change Initiatives at Van Oord

You shape how our people experience change. You create momentum, build trust, and make transformations sustainable. As Change Manager you ensure our strategic ambitions become reality, not just in process, but in behaviour, culture, and values.

You report functionally into the Manager of Talent & Learning within the HR organization and hierarchically into the Founding the Future programme. In this senior‐level role you lead complex change initiatives across Van Oord, together with various project teams and business owners. You bring structure, thoroughness and a human touch to transformations in processes, systems, roles, behaviours and culture.

Your Impact

You are responsible for the people‐side of change and driving the effectiveness of change management across Founding the Future projects or programs within the Van Oord organization.

  • Understand business complexities impacted by change, validate if additional actions are needed and develop and implement change strategies using methods such as Prosci/ADKAR
  • Translate change strategies into a practical blueprint and toolkit for projects, identifying key stakeholders, assessing impact, evaluating readiness and managing resistance
  • Define success metrics, monitor progress, and steer corrective actions on the change roadmap with project teams and business owners
  • Design and oversee communication, training and interaction plans in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Lead, mentor and coach senior leaders and colleagues to fulfil their roles and guide their teams through change

You operate at a strategic level yet stay connected to day‑to‑day change execution. You bring people along, maximize adoption and help realize return on investment.

About You

You are a trusted change leader who combines structure with empathy. With a strategic mindset and hands-on attitude, you help people navigate transformation with clarity and confidence. You bring experience in guiding complex organisational change — from processes and systems to culture and behaviour. Above all, you believe that real impact happens when change feels human and meaningful.

Requirements:

  • A degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in change management, organizational transformation or HR program leadership
  • Certified in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR)
  • Proficient in project management tools and reporting on change metrics
  • Proficient in Dutch and English
