Join a high-performing team at Royal Philips and gain hands-on experience in bench testing blood pressure cuffs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful healthcare technology projects while developing your skills in a collaborative environment.

Your role:

  • Conduct a literature study on state-of-the-art blood pressure methods and principles, human arm physiology, arterial models, pulse transfer functions, and phantom arms.
  • Perform experimental work and measurements, including parameter studies (set-up and different cuff types) and optimization.
  • Develop a software framework to control and automate measurements/recordings and to process data.
  • Prepare reports and documentation.

You're the right fit if:

  • You are studying towards your Master in Sciences (MSc.) in Physics.
  • You have a basic understanding of physical and physiological processes, and knowledge to build, test, and program hardware systems.
  • You have expertise and a proven background in Matlab and Python programming.
  • You are fluent in oral and written English.

In return, we offer you:

A great opportunity to gain experience within a high-performing team. You will gain insight into significant events within Royal Philips. You will work in a team that cooperates closely, with many learning and development opportunities.

We offer a comprehensive internship package:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and whether you need to relocate to The Netherlands. For part-time internships, the allowance is pro-rata.
  • Housing compensation if relocating to the vicinity of the office: €300 net if in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255 net for all other Philips locations. You must provide a rental contract, and your normal home-work travel distance must be more than 50 km or travel time (one way) more than 1.5 hours.
  • Travel compensation up to €192 net if you are not eligible for a free public transport card.
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop.

How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

IMPORTANT:

  • Part of our selection procedure is a HireVue online interview recording. We are not able to share the outcome of this HireVue interview but will use this as extra selection criteria.
  • To be considered, you must be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation will be requested. Students from outside the EU enrolled at a Dutch university need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement, which must be signed by the student and the university.
  • Please note that the contents of our regular internship assignments are not suitable for professionals (and/or MBA students) with professional work experience.
