The Mechanical Development cluster (MDEV) is responsible for designing, building, and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. The team ensures the Mechanical Layout throughout the entire V-cycle, making certain that the total system can be built, transported, installed, and serviced safely and efficiently.
To achieve more refined and efficient workflows, we need a lot of in-house automation code development for Simulation engineers. These types of tools will enable us to reduce engineering cycle time and become more efficient at finding the most optimum designs earlier in the process.
Your Assignment
Your assignment will focus on the development and improvement of ASML in-house toolkits within professional physics simulation software (FEA software; prior knowledge not required). The API, often in Python, is used to make these addons. Major work for this specific internship might include continuation of recently new development—simulation results reporting and a Model Manager standalone app that interacts with the simulation software. This Model Manager allows you to search models by criteria, retrieve their files, and compare the model metadata in order to find differences between them (e.g., how did model X change between revision 1 to revision 7).
Tasks involve:
The FEA software for which the tools are made includes one or more of the following: ANSYS, NX SC3D, VCollab.
This is a bachelor/master apprentice internship (to gain work experience) for a minimum of 5 months. The start date of this internship is in February 2026, but we're flexible (can be earlier or later).
