The Position

As a Quality Specialist within Van Oord, you will lead the further professionalisation of our Business Unit Dredging and Infra quality organisation and provide support for tenders and projects. You will oversee tender quality requirements, risks, and opportunities. Upon project award, you will collaborate with project teams and project quality personnel (both remote and on location) to set up and maintain quality systems.

We expect you to maintain an overview of the quality performance of each project and share insights on trends and focus areas for improvement with Business Unit Dredging & Infra and QHSE management.

Your workplace:

The QHSE Dredging & Infra team currently consists of 8 colleagues who support our Dredging and Infra tenders, projects, and several international branch offices. About half of the team is located in the Van Oord head office in Rotterdam, while the other colleagues are based at international branch offices. Besides this team, you will collaborate with the QHSE colleagues working for our Offshore Energy Business Unit, QHSE Systems, and Marine department.

As Quality Specialist, you will be located in the Rotterdam office, supporting our (inter)national subsidiaries and Dredging & Infra tenders and projects. Besides working from the office, you will occasionally visit projects and offices.

About You

As Quality Specialist, you are proactive and excel at working with people in different roles within the organisation and on projects. You know how to translate written procedures into practice. Excellent communication and social skills are in your nature, which helps you to convey your message across our multicultural organisation. You have a good command of Dutch and English, both orally and in writing. You are willing to travel and visit (international) projects on an occasional basis.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A completed Higher Vocational Education (HBO) in a technical or engineering field;
  • At least 5-10 years of working experience in the field of quality, preferably with an international background;
  • Knowledge of various quality standards and management systems, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001;
  • Relevant experience with Root Cause analysis and investigation methods, like Kelvin Topset, 8D, etc.;
  • Preferably experience in concrete, steel, or rock works, which could be from other marine or construction-related industries;
