Join the EUV Source Laser Metrology Group – Be part of progress

Introduction

The mission of our group – the EUV Source Laser Metrology – is to design and industrialize the next generation of measurement, controls, and corrections for our multi-kW CO2-laser system as part of the EUV Source. In recent years, the Source Laser department has experienced a revolution by introducing new lasers and operating at new wavelengths. This new lasers platform was introduced recently and gathers data from multiple systems.

Your Assignment

The aim of this internship assignment is to build tools to enable population analysis, system-to-system comparison, and to identify the key contributors to performance, with a focus on laser-to-droplet alignment, through statistical analysis. The assignment consists of the following tasks:

  • Contact relevant stakeholders in the organization and collect relevant metrics and modelling functions
  • Build tools in Grafana and DataBricks to display and analyze data
  • Identify main contributors to performance of source laser
  • Develop statistical analysis methods to identify optimal working conditions of source laser
  • Document the findings, including recommendations

This is a Master internship for a minimum of 6 months, working 3-5 days per week (60% onsite). The assignment is suitable for a thesis as well. The total effort is estimated at 100 working days (excluding thesis writing). The start date of this internship is around January/February.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are currently pursuing your master's in Physics and/or Mathematics with an affinity for Data Science
  • Have knowledge of Python and mathematical modelling
  • Possess a proactive mindset
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written)

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. If you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include your willingness to relocate
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)
