Be part of progress: Join ASML’s Image Alignment EUV Team

Introduction

Join ASML’s Image Alignment EUV team and contribute to the future of semiconductor technology. In this internship, you’ll help improve the precision of reticle alignment, which is critical for projecting patterns onto silicon wafers with nanometer accuracy. Your work will directly support ASML’s mission to push the boundaries of lithography and enable ever-smaller, faster, and more efficient chips.

Your Assignment

To support our engineers in optimizing scanner performance, we are looking for a master’s intern to develop a data analysis tool for reticle alignment parameters. You will build a database using MATLAB and visualize the data in Spotfire dashboards. This will help our team better understand scanner behavior and improve alignment accuracy. You will also perform statistical analyses to uncover correlations and propose improvements.

Key deliverables may include:

  • Explore existing metrology data and tooling frameworks
  • Design and implement a database for reticle alignment parameters
  • Create Spotfire dashboards for data visualization
  • Perform statistical analyses to identify trends and correlations
  • Document your findings and share recommendations
  • Validate your tool with real-world data
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine your solution

This is a master internship (not suitable for a thesis internship) with a duration of 6 to 9 months, for 4-5 days a week (3 days onsite), starting February 2026 (or earlier).

Your Profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are busy with your master's in statistics, data science or a related field like (applied) physics, engineering or (applied) mathematics
  • Are skilled at programming in MATLAB
  • Are familiar with object oriented design principles
  • Are able to analyze and visualize data
  • Are solution oriented and have a hands-on mentality
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written)

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)
