Be part of progress: Internship Opportunity in Applications D&E (Development & Engineering)

Introduction

This internship is within the department Applications D&E (Development & Engineering), which is our customers’ first choice for providing self-learning metrology and fab solutions for efficient control, faster ramp-up and optimal output. All development activities are conducted within the constraints of specification, time and budget as demanded by market conditions. How do we make this happen? By connecting closely with the customer, challenging the status quo to make change happen and continuously improving our processes.

As an intern, you will get the chance to work with colleagues at ASML to assess the effectiveness of development processes by measuring data and analyzing results. The internship offers an exciting opportunity to support the Process Window Control, gain hands-on experience, and receive mentorship from senior engineers in a high-tech environment.

Your assignment

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our product development team in enhancing and streamlining our Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes. This internship offers hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and methodologies, particularly focusing on requirements management and process optimization using Siemens Polarion.

  • Learn and apply the Polarion tool to manage software development documentation, including implementing change control procedures.
  • Assist in the migration and organization of product development artifacts, such as requirements, design specifications, and test performance documents, into Polarion.
  • Gain practical experience in end-to-end Application Lifecycle Management, contributing to the alignment of development activities with defined workflows.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of product development processes using key performance indicators such as requirements coverage and traceability.
  • Prepare a technical report and/or presentation summarizing findings, challenges encountered, and actionable recommendations for process improvements.

This is a vocational/university of applied sciences bachelor internship project for 3-5 days a week (2 days onsite), with a duration of at least 6 months (the team is flexible regarding the duration and availability). The start date of this internship is February 2026, or earlier.

Your Profile

To be a match for this internship, you:

  • Are currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Technologies or a related field.
  • Are familiar with software development methodologies and lifecycle concepts.
  • Have strong analytical skills, are detail oriented, and possess great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Have the willingness to explore new tools with a problem-solving and structural mindset.
  • Have interest in tool migration, process optimization and technical documentation.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
