The internship

As our intern, you will be part of the Global Media team and support the team to implement and execute global external communications and corporate media relations campaigns. To strengthen the company’s reputation, we use a variety of communication channels including traditional media, digital platforms, and social media.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience and provide essential support in various external communication activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and execution of external communication and global media plans.
  • Supporting the preparation and coordination of media interviews.
  • Contributing to the creation of external communication assets, such as Q&A's, key messages, quotes, visuals, etc.
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions.
  • Drafting communication materials for various platforms and audiences.
  • Compiling coverage overviews and analysing media coverage.
  • Internal stakeholder management.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in corporate communications and global media relations and gain practical experience in the dynamic and fast-paced environment of HEINEKEN. You will report to the Global Head of Media.

The department

The Global Media team is part of Global Communications at HEINEKEN, which sits within the Global Corporate Affairs (CA) function. CA also includes Global Public Affairs and Sustainable Development. Our team leads external corporate communications with the objective to strengthen our company's reputation. We create and execute a comprehensive global strategy that focuses on broad storytelling, integrating communications efforts across global functions and countries to ensure a cohesive and compelling narrative.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2026
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation 4 days a week also possible)
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
  • You must be enrolled in a university and need to submit proof of enrolment for the duration of your internship.
  • It is a practice-oriented internship, i.e. no thesis research internship
  • You will be based in Amsterdam
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work from home some days of the week
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross p/m based on 40 hours per week (when you start at the 1st of the month).
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime internship)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

  • Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a master’s degree.
  • Passion for Corporate Communications and working in a multinational environment.
  • You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • You have great English language and writing skills, Dutch language skills are of added value.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during your onboarding.
    1. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
    2. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  2. You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
