The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) is a social enterprise that works internationally to enhance access to justice through innovation. We are recruiting a driven and internationally orientated HR Officer based in The Hague.

What fills you with pride?

In combination with optimising workflows in the AFAS environment and assisting the HR Manager on reports and organising events? It’s all in a day’s work.

As our HR Officer, we are offering you a varied and challenging work package. You would join 2 other colleagues passionate about Human Resources and Recruitment and report to the HR Manager. You will become part of a dynamic and international team of 70+ professionals.

What are you going to do?

  • You process HR and salary-related changes of the employee life cycle in the HRIS AFAS Insite and the monthly payroll.
  • You support with drafting contracts, arrange 30% ruling/visa/work permits, take care of the administration of the Performance Review & Appraisal cycle.
  • You answer questions from our employees regarding our HR policies.
  • You contribute to the continuous optimisation of HR workflows and processes.
  • You maintain contact with external parties such as the external payroll office, UWV and pension provider for compliance and administration purposes and support the HR Advisor in registering the sick leave reports.
  • Next to your role you can participate in HR projects most appealing to you, like co-developing so-called Learning Paths and/or contributing to the development of HR policies.

Our new colleague

  • Has a HBO / bachelor degree in relevant fields (e.g. Human Resources / Business administration/economics, Social Sciences).
  • Has at least 3 solid years of work experience with independent execution of HR administration.
  • Is IT tech-savvy and has experience in working with HRIS systems, preferably AFAS (InSite & Profit) and Excel.
  • Has good knowledge of Dutch relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Has full professional proficiency in English and Dutch; verbally and written.
  • Is very dependable, punctual and has a can-do attitude.
  • Is a great people-person and brings good energy to the office.
  • Is comfortable working in a dynamic environment and can adapt easily to ongoing organisational and operational changes.
  • Is able to work under time pressure and has great planning skills.
  • Holding EU-citizenship or NL work permit.

  • We offer a position for an initial period of 12 months with the aim of building a long-term work relationship.
  • A monthly salary for a full-time working week [40h] between € 3.200,- / € 3.950,- based on years of relevant experience.
