Looking for a role that grows with you?

As a Sales Associate at Menlo Coaching, you can expect to work in an environment that fosters professional development and career growth. You’ll learn to evaluate leads, to communicate the unique value of our company’s services to prospective clients, and strategies to help you close a sale. You’ll also mentor under colleagues who have worked at a diverse range of companies, including Bain, Sony, Efficient Frontier (acquired by Adobe), Yahoo, Travelzoo, and more.

We’re not looking for work experience but rather innate curiosity about the sales process plus a great personality fit.

The Sales Associate represents Menlo Coaching as one of the first points of contact for our prospective clients. Therefore, the ideal person in this role excels at communications and relationship building, is conscientious, and is eager to develop an in-depth understanding of our sales process. We’re looking for a quick learner with the drive and ambition to support and maintain a high-performing sales force.

The primary “must-haves” for this position are:

  • A university degree and fluent or native written and spoken English. (Most of our clients are American.)
  • Prior work experience in a Customer Service / Sales and/or Operations-focused role is a plus, but is not required.
  • You should be a self-starter, eager to take on the opportunities within your role!

This fulfilling, full-time position is based out of our Baarn, NL office – just a 40-minute train ride from Amsterdam Centraal Station – where you’ll work as a key part of our team. Our team works together collaboratively, in person, meaning that although we offer the chance to work from home occasionally, everyone comes into the office.

We do not care if you speak Dutch! 🙂

Some things that people like about working at Menlo:

  • We have a comfortable, friendly office full of knowledgeable, patient professionals.
  • We don’t and won’t work with clients who don’t need our help or who are a bad fit.
  • We approach all things with the long-term in mind, considering the careers of our clients and our team.
  • Our primary function is helping people see themselves in a better light.

As a Sales Associate, your day will be spent:

  • Responding to our sales inquiries, tracking and analyzing lead trends.
  • Speaking with sales applicants on initial screening calls to describe our services and match them with a coach on our team.
  • Working with the growth team to develop creative solutions for our sales pipeline.
  • Supporting our client services and marketing projects.

Future Opportunities

This role provides growth potential, depending on your strengths. In addition to the tasks and projects outlined above, you might end up…

  • Working directly with our leads and identifying better sales opportunities.
  • Supporting outbound sales efforts.
  • Training directly with our sales coach, who could work with you as part of your development.

You’ll be keeping good company at Menlo Coaching

Established in 2012, the quality of our work has resulted in multiple industry awards, including company founders David and Alice being recognized as the #1 and #3 global admissions consultants, respectively, by the highly regarded MBA community site Poets&Quants.

Prior to their work founding, running, and growing Menlo Coaching:

  • David worked in executive roles for Efficient Frontier (acquired by Adobe), Yahoo, and Travelzoo, with responsibilities for business units of up to $120M.
  • Alice was a consultant at Bain and taught at Stanford University.
  • Julie worked with the business and tech teams at Sony Music Entertainment.

“Alice knows the admission game backwards and forwards. She genuinely cares about your success (not just in getting into a school but also your career) but at the same time, she is upfront and pragmatic about everything.”

“I’ve worked two different high-finance jobs in my career and consider myself a strong interviewer. I worked with David for less than an hour to prepare for my Booth interview. When I finished my interview, I confidently told David and Alice it was the best interview of my life. I *knew* I would get the Booth offer and this is not from a place of ego but just to speak as to how well David prepared me.”

Founded in 2012, Menlo Coaching helps applicants apply to top MBA programs. We provide intensive coaching with writing the essays and advise on all other parts of the MBA application. Our personal approach makes the application process less painful and maximizes applicants' chances of being admitted to the program of their choice, and our collaborative team environment means that we are rapidly growing and expanding!
