We are currently recruiting for a Business Manager CFO MBE for our Finance Division in Amsterdam.

The MBE subsidiary based in The Netherlands is a network of branches (Germany Branch (Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich), Spain Branch (Madrid), Belgium Branch (Brussels), Austria Branch (Vienna)), managed from Amsterdam.

Your impact at MUFG

As Business Manager CFO MBE you operate as a member of the CFO Business Management Team providing direct support to the CFO and, as necessary, other members of the CFO MT to ensure that the business has a ‘license to operate’. This support will take many forms including strategic and operational activities across a multitude of business disciplines. You will be responsible for key monitoring and reporting tasks on behalf of the CFO team within MBE and represent the CFO in meetings, as required/requested.

Specifically, you will be accountable and responsible for taking appropriate action with respect to the Company’s and MBE Finance, including:

  • Supporting the CFO in executing and documenting his responsibilities.
  • Supporting the MBE CFO in establishing and developing the strategy for the MBE Finance function.
  • Supporting the CFO in developing a robust Finance organization (including new tools, applications, solutions) to ensure the Finance function is able to meet and respond to new business plans, changing regulatory requirements, new products and volume shifts.
  • Working with the CFO, his management team and Corporate Communications to create and execute an MBE Finance-wide communications strategy.
  • Supporting the CFO in driving staff engagement and connectivity initiatives.
  • Supporting the CFO in performing oversight of how the business is run, including financial control, resource planning, governance and management information.
  • Supporting and challenging the budgeting and personnel management for the department.
  • Tracking and monitoring progress against (project) plans and budgets.
  • Providing strategic input and advice to the senior members of the department.
  • Supporting the CFO in managing his workload ensuring timely responses to initiatives and the delegation of tasks.
  • Providing Management Information to senior members of the Finance and Data Management department, and to other parts of the group.
  • Delivering high-quality and pro-active support to MUFG’s business activities, assisting the firm to do business in the right way and to deliver its business strategy.
  • Supporting the CFO in ensuring key processes are run efficiently to deliver quality and reliable information, to support the firm’s business growth and control procedures.
  • Supporting the CFO and the management team in coordinating answering regulatory questions and performing other regulatory exercises for the Finance team.
  • Supporting the CFO and the management team in ensuring timely delivery of quality responses to actions from governance committees.
  • Maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with stakeholders, across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and develop effective local policies and procedures appropriate to the Company, and working in support of the One MUFG and overall Group strategy.

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

  • Several years of relevant experience in the banking or financial industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, motivated, results-driven mindset, with a strong sense of accountability over your area of ownership and the ability to operate with urgency and prioritise work accordingly.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills; a structured, logical, creative and innovative approach to work; and the ability to demonstrate sound judgement.
  • Ability to manage large workloads to tight deadlines; maintaining excellent attention to detail and accuracy; delivered through a calm approach, with the ability to perform well in a pressurised environment.
  • Excellent numerical skills, Microsoft Office skills and ability to visualize progress/status of the overall function.

Additional information:

The role is based in the Netherlands. All candidates need to be willing to relocate to the Netherlands. Internal employees will be supported in case of relocation.
