Your role:

We’re in business to save our home planet. This role leads and evolves Patagonia’s visual merchandising adaptation and execution across all EMEA spaces, including retail stores, wholesale partners, showrooms and events. It ensures the adaptation and implementation of global guidelines within the regional context, driving consistency, commercial relevance, and elevated customer experiences. The role manages internal and external visual merchandising professionals and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver compelling in-store storytelling.

Main tasks:

  • Adapt Guidelines: Interpret and adapt global visual merchandising guidelines for the EMEA market in collaboration with Design, MPX, and Retail teams to ensure brand consistency and commercial effectiveness.

  • Seasonal Planning: Develop seasonal visual merchandising plans including window concepts, focal areas, and product zoning strategies aligned with global and regional needs to deliver compelling and locally relevant in-store storytelling.

  • People Management: Manage and coach the Visual Merchandising Coordinator to effectively coordinate seasonal planning execution and annual visit calendar and guide regional freelancers and point people in stores to ensure alignment, and maintain high-quality execution across regions.

  • Creative Direction: Support the development of visual concepts for key product launches, complex VM and store layout challenges, campaign moments, and special areas to elevate brand storytelling and enhance customer engagement across diverse retail environments.

  • Tool Development: Supervise creation of seasonal merchandising packs and planograms using IWD software to provide stores with clear, actionable, and format-specific visual guidance ensuring consistency without compromising creativity or customer experience.

  • Budget Management: Forecast, track expenditure, and approve invoices for the visual merchandising yearly budget.

What we’re looking for:

  • An inclusive mindset.

  • 5+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising.

  • Strong team leadership and coaching abilities, with experience managing direct reports and freelance contributors.

  • Expertise in seasonal visual merchandising planning, guideline creation, and field execution.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.

  • Proficiency in IWD or similar planogram software; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizational and project management capabilities.

  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.

  • A love of the outdoors.

  • A passion for saving our home planet and making a positive impact through your work.

Other important details:

  • This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam.

  • We have a hybrid work model, working from home for maximum 3 days per week.
