The Assignment
Our robotic applications are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the meat processing industry, including high humidity, daily pressure cleaning, and exposure to antibacterial cleaning chemicals. Currently, we use standard 6-axis industrial robots protected by covers. These covers require frequent replacement, increasing the cost of ownership, and can harbor dirt, making it challenging to meet hygiene standards.
With the advent of IP67-rated hygienic robots from various suppliers, we aim to evaluate whether these robots present a viable alternative for our operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will analyze the limitations and challenges of using IP67-rated hygienic robots in meat processing. Your tasks will include determining the feasibility and potential benefits, verifying if there is a valid business case for these robots, designing and implementing field experiments to test the robots, and preparing a detailed report summarizing your research and experimental findings.
Set up project plan including activities, time, cost, risks. Review current system. Create a program of requirements. Validate program of requirements with stakeholders. Create Value Proposition / Business Case for the customer and for JBT Marel. Develop prototype with the team including mechanical design, hardware and software. Create test specification for a field test.
