Do you have a passion for teaching and a talent for building connections? Would you like to contribute to strengthening education at the Faculty of Science? As a Teacher Ambassador at the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), you will use your enthusiasm and expertise to inspire fellow teachers, foster collaboration, and promote educational innovation.

Teacher ambassador Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre

With the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), Radboud University facilitates and promotes a stimulating, welcoming, connecting climate in the field of education. The TLC is a network of teachers that strives to continuously work on the appreciation, organisation and quality of education. In this, the TLC is a change agent by agenda-setting, connecting and acting. Three themes are central to the TLC: Educational Development and Innovation, Teacher Development and Wellbeing and Educational Research.

As a Teacher Ambassador, you get the opportunity to inspire others about teaching and education. You know your faculty well and will contribute to continuing education development in the faculty. You are visible and approachable for lecturers in your faculty and work closely together with two fellow Teacher Ambassadors, the educational innovators and the Teaching Information Point team. Together with them, you identify questions and needs for support or training opportunities. You want to involve other lecturers in projects or initiatives from the TLC and make connections with developments at other faculties. In the TLC itself, you are actively involved in one or more core activities.

You play a key role in linking activities of the TLC with activities and developments at the faculty and in initiating activities from within the TLC. The role of teacher ambassador is a new step in your teaching career. We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active lecturer with both feet firmly planted in educational practice. A teacher who is naturally inclined to look beyond the boundaries of their own section/subject. A teacher with a vision of and a heart for academic education. Demonstrable experience and/or affinity with at least one of the three TLC themes. Communicating in English is not a problem, but we do expect you to be able to understand texts or presentations in Dutch.

Role

  • Proactively gathering and sharing information, with a curious and reflective mindset
  • Being visible within your faculty and promoting teaching-related themes
  • Building bridges within and beyond your faculty
  • Liaising with the Teaching Information Point (TIP) and the faculty board
  • Work closely with the innovators from the educational institutes in the FoS.
  • Bringing back signals from the field to the TLC
  • Acting as a sounding board for fellow teachers, offering feedback and support
  • (Co-)organising TLC events such as teaching topics and Special Interest Groups

What we offer

The TLC is a dynamic network of teachers with a physical home base (TvA1) and a digital platform. All staff are seconded and have their main job elsewhere in the university. Teacher ambassadors find colleagues with similar ambitions from other faculties within the TLC. Together, we create an enthusiastic and inspiring environment in which we work on teacher development, educational development and educational innovation with an inquisitive attitude. Together, we organise inspiration sessions, educational symposiums and the annual Education Days.

In summary, the TLC will give you:

  • Interactive sessions and peer consultation with other teacher ambassadors
  • A Teams environment for knowledge exchange
  • Network of teaching experts
  • Network of lecturers: peer support
  • Content-driven inspiration and training

The teacher ambassador will be working for the TLC for 0.1-0.2 FTE (by mutual agreement) for a period of 2 years (possibly prolonged once). In consultation with the faculty, it will be determined how the fte will be deducted from current duties. Start date in consultation, preferably January 2026.

What do you need to arrange at your own workplace

  • 0,1 or 0,2 fte (TLC will compensate the hours to your department)
  • Support from your faculty board/ manager
