Lead Financial Excellence as Head of Controlling at Allianz Benelux

As the Head of Controlling, you will be responsible for evaluating and steering the financial performance across our Life and P&C businesses in Benelux. Reporting to the Regional CFO, you will maintain and keep on enhancing the performance management framework, providing critical insights to the Benelux CEO, CFO, and key stakeholders, locally and at Allianz Group. Your role will involve leveraging operational KPIs, adapting reporting to market changes, and fostering strong relationships with business leaders. You will act as a sparring partner for the Board of Management on financial management topics, while leading a team focused on continuous development and innovation. In this role, you will elevate the team's data-driven and agile capabilities, fostering adaptability and continuous learning, while building on and enhancing our existing strengths.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Own the financial performance steering process, including regular reviews and planning dialogues.
  • Serve as the key contact for Group on financial reporting and steering matters.
  • Supervise spending, ensuring cost discipline and transparency in allocation.
  • Evaluate M&A and external opportunities, assessing Allianz's competitive position.
  • Collaborate with the Transformation Office for business case development and tracking.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of financial performance reporting.
  • Lead a team of over 15 FTEs, fostering a culture of high performance and nurturing a robust talent pipeline. Guide the team in fostering a strategy that emphasizes data-driven decision-making and agile practices, enhancing efficiency and cultivating innovation for positive growth and development.

Your Profile

We are seeking a seasoned financial expert with a deep understanding of insurance financial reporting, steering, and forecasting across P&C and Life. You hold a Master’s degree in econometrics, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or computer science. You possess strong knowledge of actuarial concepts, IFRS17, S2, and capital management, along with expertise in reinsurance and insurance products. Your skills include financial communication, team and project steering, and navigating complex global organizations. You have experience managing diverse teams in an international setting, and are adept at influencing and driving change. A passion for fostering a data-savvy and agile team culture is essential.
