Do you have previous experience with data modelling and data analysis? Then you are the person we are looking for in the Controlling Domain! You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of Finance and IT professionals working together to achieve the Controlling objectives using an Agile way of working.

Your job

As a Business Analyst for Controlling, you are involved in the creation and technical analysis of Finance data; specifically, those involving management information. One of your primary goals is to be a spearhead in data modelling and design solutions based on the current data architecture. After designing the model for requirements, you create clear technical specifications that the IT developers can work upon.

Together with your colleagues from Business Control, Financial Control and the Grid, you and your team take end-to-end responsibility for the delivery of all Controlling requests. These are very diverse, which means you must be able and willing to quickly switch between various areas of expertise. In addition to changes we initiate ourselves, changes made elsewhere in the (Finance) chain often have an impact on Controlling as well. Your personal input, together with the knowledge of the professionals from Finance and IT, makes us achieve all goals and is the key to our success.

Working environment

You will work in one of the four agile scrum teams that currently are part of the Grid Controlling Domain. Connecting with and delving into the challenges of Business and Financial Control are essential skills for a successful Business Analyst. Standardization, rationalization, and innovation of the management information processes and systems are important change topics, in addition to the recurring monthly processes. Within your role as a Senior Business Analyst, you are responsible for data modelling any new requirement or change, ensuring that technical specifications are clear for our IT developers to implement. We are a relatively small domain which will allow your strategic, tactical and operational expertise plenty of room to blossom. Your role as a Senior Business Analyst is deliberately given the broadest and most flexible scope allowing for content, coordination, and collaboration to go hand in hand with achieving our ambitious goals. We are looking for a colleague to help us accelerate the optimization and standardization of our processes. A good understanding of both Finance/controlling processes and IT is therefore a big advantage.

You are also able to properly transfer this knowledge to our users by delivering clear products requirements and documentation. You will facilitate the discussion to discovering the problem by listening to stakeholder needs but also critically consider those needs and ask probing questions until the real need is surfaced and understood. Given the demanding environment that is controlling, you need to make a good distinction between what is important and what is not by setting priorities and saying 'no' nicely if necessary.
