Architect of compliant, scalable product data excellence at bol

How do you make our customers happy?

By granting 13.7 million customers easy access to product information that meets the highest quality and compliance standards. As the Product Manager of Supplier Catalog Management, you’ll shape the technology and processes behind our supplier catalog and elevate our product data capabilities. With millions of products from 1,000+ suppliers fueling our retail operation, you ensure every item – from wash cloths to washing machines – includes trustworthy information. Can you transform data chaos into a compliance masterpiece while keeping our platform competitive and customer-centric?

The biggest challenge

Help us build smarter product data systems in a fast-changing world. Regulations are popping up everywhere, and we need solid data processes that can keep up—without slowing us down. New products arrive daily, so our systems need to be both strong and flexible. But the real challenge? Getting over 1,000 suppliers on board—many of whom are used to doing things their own way. We’re not here to play compliance cop. Instead, we want to make following the rules feel like a step forward, not a burden. That’s where you come in: combining smart tech with a people-first approach to make change feel natural.

What you'll do as the Product Manager of Supplier Catalog Management

As part of the Retailer 1, our first party retail organization, product team, you’ll lead the way in improving how we manage and grow our product catalog. That means working closely with engineers, data experts, and commercial colleagues to set the vision and plan for our product data systems based on continuous discovery. You’ll dig into how things work today, spot what’s missing, and turn those insights into real improvements. From defining what we build to measuring how well it works—you’ll be leading every step of the way. And it’s not just about tech. You’ll also help over 1,000 suppliers get on board with new ways of working. Starting with their customer feedback, you create smart strategies, make adoption easy, and show the value of change. It takes persistence and people skills—because you’re not just building products, you’re building trust. You key responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the product strategy and vision for catalog management
  • Shape scalable master data capabilities with compliance as the foundation
  • Collaborate with Legal, Tech and retail teams on data standards
  • Lead discovery initiatives to identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Establish clear KPIs for catalog quality, completeness, and compliance
  • Champion a data-driven, experimental product culture
  • Drive change management initiatives to align and commit 1,000+ suppliers

Why you can make a difference

You combine 3+ years of product management experience (ideally in e-commerce or retail tech) with a keen eye for data quality and compliance. You understand that clean, reliable product data isn’t a nice-to-have but a competitive advantage. As a strategic thinker who embraces hands-on problem solving, you thrive in cross-functional settings where collaboration matters as much as delivery. You excel at translating complex technical concepts into compelling narratives that unite stakeholders – from engineers to suppliers.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

  • - Feature factory Your main KPI is the number of features shipped, not the number of problems solved
  • - Compliance cynic Regulations are creativity killers that exist solely to thwart innovation
  • - Solo sailor Why collaborate when you can navigate challenges alone?
  • + Systems thinker You love building smart, scalable solutions that make life easier for everyone—from suppliers to internal teams.
  • + Problem untangler You enjoy digging into tricky situations and finding simple, smart solutions.
  • + Collaborative disruptor You guide colleagues and suppliers to the finish line by proving benefits, not by threatening sanctions

Where you'll work

You’ll join one of the leading retail tech platforms in the Netherlands and Belgium, where 2,900 colleagues have been reinventing retail since 1999. As part of the Retailer 1 product team, you’ll work alongside talented professionals who combine the operational excellence of a mature retailer with the innovation hunger of a tech scale-up. We take compliance seriously, but never lose our sense of humor about our daily data adventures. Your work directly affects how 13.7 million customers experience our platform and how 47,000 partners succeed on it. Ready to build the foundation for scalable, compliant growth? Let’s see your catalog capabilities in action!
