Are you a Master’s student in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering with a specialization in Computational Mechanics? Are you passionate about reduced order modeling and eager to apply your skills to real-world industrial challenges? If so, this internship opportunity might be the perfect fit for your graduation thesis project.
Background
Within the Mechanical Development cluster, we are developing advanced methods for system-level simulations aimed at reducing development time and minimizing the need for physical testing. These virtual testing environments integrate physics-based simulation engines with ASML software, with Reduced Order Models (ROMs) playing a central role. These models capture the essential behavior of machine components under complex, transient, and multi-physics conditions—such as thermal deformation due to varying heat flux.
Your assignment
Your task will be to investigate and develop uncertainty quantification (UQ) methods for coupled reduced order models. You will begin with single-physics, single-component systems and progressively build toward more complex coupled systems.

About Us
ASML is a leading supplier of lithography equipment, used by the world’s top chipmakers to print microchips that are increasingly powerful, fast and energy efficient. Working at ASML is inspiring, no matter what field you're in. That’s because we push the boundaries of technology: if it’s moving the world forward, chances are, we’re behind it. In fact, we’re probably a part of the electronic device you’re using right now.
We’re a global team of more than 32,000 people from 122 different nationalities and counting. Headquartered in Europe’s top tech hub, the Brainport Eindhoven region in the Netherlands, our operations are spread across Europe, Asia and the US.
We're moving technology forward
In fact, we’re probably a part of the electronic device you’re using right now. Our lithography technology is fundamental to mass producing semiconductor chips. With it, the world’s top chipmakers are creating microchips that are more powerful, faster and energy efficient.
