How do you make our customers happy?

By developing and cultivating international supplier relationships that drive global platform growth, expand choice, and improve value for our 13.7 million customers. As our Manager International Supplier Strategy & Compliance, you’ll transform complex global partnership challenges into scalable, competitive advantages. From negotiating game-changing contracts with strategic suppliers to building a governance framework that protects partners and ensures compliance, you’ll build a foundation that drives seamless international commerce. Your decisions will directly impact how we serve customers while maintaining their trust and continuing to deliver the reliability they expect from bol.

The biggest challenge

Scaling international partnerships in a complex regulatory landscape where one size definitely doesn’t fit all. How do you balance commercial ambitions with strict compliance standards across diverse markets? How do you create standardized processes while respecting regional nuances? You’ll harmonize strategic ambitions with operational realities and aggressive growth targets with prudent risk management. How can you build a cohesive global supplier ecosystem that generates both immediate results and long-term strategic value?

What you'll do as Manager International Supplier Strategy & Compliance

As a strategic leader within the International team, you’ll report to the Head of Integrators and play a key role in shaping the future of our international supplier ecosystem. You’ll serve as a thought partner on partnership models and ecosystem design while building the capabilities that empower sustainable international growth.

You’ll lead high-stakes commercial negotiations, structure partnership opportunities, and develop scalable governance frameworks that ensure performance and compliance across regions. You’ll oversee the complete supplier contract lifecycle while building robust processes that mitigate risks and maximize value. That calls for a strategic thinker who is able to evaluate new markets and devise innovative partnership models.

As the function scales, you’ll build and guide a growing team of contract specialists, championing best practices while optimizing processes and tooling. E.g., for onboarding, contract management, and compliance monitoring. Through close collaboration with Legal, Finance, Sales, and product teams, you’ll ensure partnerships are both commercially impactful and legally sound. You’ll also drive the implementation of advanced CLM systems and create frameworks that support our ambitious 3-year growth trajectory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define the strategy, roadmap, and OKRs for International Supplier Strategy & Compliance
  • Lead high-level negotiations and manage strategic international partner relationships
  • Oversee contract lifecycle governance, from creation through renewal and compliance
  • Build scalable partnership programs and contract governance frameworks
  • Mitigate legal, financial, and compliance risks through cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead and develop a growing team of contract and compliance specialists
  • Implement advanced tooling and optimize processes to facilitate international expansion

Why you can make a difference

You have a bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field (master’s preferred) and bring 6+ years of commercial partnerships and/or international business development experience to the table. Your track record demonstrates leadership capabilities and experience in managing strategic partnerships. This includes navigating complex commercial contracts and building scalable processes in fast-paced international settings. You shine at cross-functional collaboration and possess a deep understanding of contract lifecycle governance and compliance frameworks. Experience with CLM tools and international legal processes is essential, as is the combination of strategic vision and project management excellence. Your analytical skills and communication prowess ideally position you to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Perfectionist avant la lettre You spend months perfecting clauses instead of moving quickly to seize market opportunities with solid-but-probably-improvable agreements
  • Regional tunnel vision International complexity overwhelms you; you prefer the comfort of single-market, relatively straightforward partnership models
  • Lonesome contract cowboy You do your best negotiating work in splendid isolation and shy away from building consensus across legal, finance, sales, and product teams
  • Strategic ecosystem builder You thrive on building international partnerships that create lasting competitive advantages and add measurable customer value
  • Scaling virtuoso You excel at transforming startup-style initiatives into enterprise-grade capabilities while maintaining agility and commercial focus
  • 4D chess master You see ten moves ahead in international markets, anticipating regulatory changes and partnership opportunities that others overlook

Where you'll work

You’ll join the International team of a rapidly scaling global operation serving 13.7 million customers and 47,000 partners across multiple markets. The environment combines strategic ambition with operational excellence – we think globally but execute locally, building partnerships that work across cultures while maintaining our high standards. Our culture values both visionary thinking and practical execution; we celebrate breakthrough partnerships and learn from complex negotiations. With a growing team that will expand significantly over the next two years, you’ll have the opportunity to shape not only our international strategy but also how we attract talent and develop capabilities. Ready to build the global partnerships that power our platform? Let’s enter into a win-win partnership!
