About the Role

The purpose of the role is to design, deliver and execute an effective training plan across all distributor teams, the front-line teams and demonstrators (Experts & Stylists), covering all aspects of product knowledge and ‘why Dyson’ sales skills. Work internally and externally to drive a better customer experience and sales journey through knowledge and insights. The Training Manager has a leading role in Dyson events, product launches and our focus demo technology.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions on new and existing products to ensure knowledge, engagement and enthusiasm is transferred.
  • Develop, apply and facilitate an engaging annual calendar of training sessions for applicable teams, plan the delivery and follow-up on opportunities.
  • Coach and deliver constructive feedback and ensure a high level of product knowledge and sales skills are embedded and transferred to front line teams.
  • Adapt, develop and execute the Training programs for other trainers, build structure, processes and yearly goals. Develop local market focus in a sales and experience driven way across channels.
  • Develop new training platforms utilising latest technology in order to have continuous engagement and longer lasting impact (e-learning, newsletter, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Work with external providers to develop Training programs that build the capability of our Sales Team.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to prepare visuals and guidelines that are locally relevant and compliance with Dyson standards.
  • Ensure Dyson Perfect demo is well executed in stores working closely with retail activation.
  • Visit stores at least on a bi-monthly basis to ensure perfect demo is executed – regular travel is required.

Deliver digital and event based external training sessions to distributor and retailer store staff, driving Dyson brand advocacy and enhancing their ability to sell Dyson products

  • Plan, design and deliver training through ‘Dyson or retailer academies’, increasing their product knowledge, awareness of the brand and help them deliver the ‘why Dyson’ message
  • Liaise with Marketing and the retailer to produce materials for store staff to be used in conjunction with training sessions and ways of selling to drive advocacy, find differences and specific opportunities across markets.
  • Plan focused training sessions in line with market activity to support Dyson plans. Provide training tools to enable excellent sales execution.
  • Lead Retailer training events and do convey the Dyson message in a retail and category specific way to increase sales out and experience.

Provide a comprehensive induction program to ensure all new colleagues are equipped with the knowledge and tools to excel within their roles

  • Deliver comprehensive inductions to all new colleagues
  • Periodically evaluate the induction program and recommend changes to drive enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for the brand
  • Develop methods to test knowledge and ensure the induction structure provides opportunity to learn about the products
  • A willingness to travel regularly is a key requirement of this role

About You

  • Fluency verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience in working with and understanding of electrical retailers
  • Relevant qualification and experience in training delivery
  • Previous soft sales skills training delivery (listening / questioning and closing)
  • Training design and delivery in large, matrix organisations where engagement of multiple stakeholders is required
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Presentation skills – able to present confidently in front of varied audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Team player leading by example
  • Adaptable/flexible – able to multitask

  • Ability to travel across the markets to attend meetings and training events
