A Day in the Life

As the Transportation Management System (TMS) Program Manager you will be responsible for supporting the strategy and execution (standup) of the TMS Implementation & Deployment Strategy. In addition, you are responsible for developing & deploying Process Improvements, as well as ensuring a global governance to the Program. In this role, you will play a vital role in the implementation and support of the TMS. This role is a part of the Deliver Transportation Center of Excellence team and will work in an international environment together with colleagues based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Americas, Asia Pacific (APAC)/Greater China (GC). This role offers an exciting blend of tech management and Business process solutioning across the Global Supply Chain.

In this role you are accountable for transportation TMS training within the organization, including setting the training strategy in partnership with Knowledge Management, ensuring regional teams have the support to train new hires and to deploy supplemental training as needed. Additionally, you are responsible for process improvement opportunities within the TMS Program and will work the different functional teams to prioritize initiatives aligning with the current MDT strategy, and oversees projects owned by the process improvement team. We are looking for a result-oriented person with positive mindset, one who is self-motivated, engaged, and willing to take ownership. You are a good problem solver, are creative in solutioning and one who has a determined approach. You are also structured and motivated by practical thinking.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure TMS effective functionality and integration with other systems/applications; manage, support & maintain business-owned master data in the TMS; support application change requests with business stakeholders; collaborate with IT staff and TMS vendor reps to ensure smooth integration and operation
  • Lead initial standup & deployment of all carrier connectivity; initiate and maintain route and rate management; support collaborative contract lifecycle management with supply management and regional teams; collaborate cross-functionally for operational excellence
  • Support process improvement initiatives that enhance execution; participate in investigations, pre-studies, and User Acceptance Tests (UATs)
  • Serve as the first point of contact for TMS-related issues; support SOPs and Work Instructions for TMS users; assist teams with understanding and using TMS effectively to ensure smooth operations
  • Configure the TMS system based on evolving business needs; ensure accurate and consistent management of master data within the TMS; support change requests and enhancements to improve system usability and performance
  • Troubleshoot data, connectivity, and functionality issues within the TMS; work with IT and vendors to resolve issues and ensure seamless integration with other systems; provide end-user technical support and guidance
  • Ensure adherence to contracts and procedures in collaboration with carrier performance teams; maintain precise contract records within systems for accessibility; support pricing strategy, contract alignment, and compliance initiatives

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation/logistics, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in transportation/logistics
  • Experience implementing and configuring TMS systems
  • Technical/ Analytics Skills combined with the ability to prioritize in a high demanding area, ability to develop and maintain cross-functional and global networks and customer service oriented
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Extensive experience working in or implementing Blue Yonder TMS
