Internship (Research & Innovation): Scientific Communication & Coordination

Danone Research & Innovation (R&I) is recognized as credible, trusted and impactful – underpinned by its deep expertise in health and science. As part of the Excellence team, the R&I Communications team is responsible for developing the communication strategy and increasing the science visibility around Danone's dairy and plant-based products, waters and specialized nutrition, positioning these as key value drivers for the organization.

Main responsibilities include:

1. Creative content creation & distribution:

   • Enhancing existing communication projects to be disseminated to our internal and external audiences throughout the year.
   • Creating and running content campaigns to engage our internal and external audiences throughout the year.
   • Amplify the reach of our content by engaging with internal audiences and supporting the roll-out of our ambassador programme.

2. Administrative Tasks

   • Ensure the accuracy and timely updating of our monthly financial report, as well as keeping track of expenses with our current vendors.
   • Keep our content communications schedule updated and keep our terms of use for images folder and excel spreadsheet updated.
   • Monitor our owned digital channels to ensure they are working smoothly, as well as suggesting ways to continuously improve.

3. Stakeholder Management:

   • Coordinate with external agencies to request data pulls and ensure reports are complete.

4. Reporting:

   • Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive reports to track the progress, measure impact, and inform strategic R&I Comms decisions.
   • Prepare monthly updates on scientific activities, sharing them via Workplace and on office screens to keep colleagues informed and engaged.

About you

• You’re a student, currently pursuing a degree in Science Communication, Life Sciences, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field
• You have a strong background in science and/or communications
• You are comfortable with content creation (Canva, Adobe, PowerPoint are considered a plus)
• You have a creative mindset and have an ability to propose new ideas
• You enjoy networking with multiple stakeholders
• You are organized and can handle a variety of different tasks

As a Science Communication & Coordination intern, working on communication strategies for different projects will become second nature to you. You can pay attention to details in administrative tasks and have a strong interest in science. On top of that? You’re a proactive and creative individual who’s always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.

Compulsory requirements:

• Enrolled as a Bachelors/Masters student during the whole internship period;
• You are a resident of the Netherlands and hold a valid BSN number (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to have a valid Dutch residency permit);
• Ideally available to start in August 2025 for a minimum of 6 months (9+ months is preferred), 5 days per week;
• You are fluent in English - spoken and written; French or Portuguese is considered as a plus;
• You are able to work from our Utrecht office, at least 2 days per week.
