Senior Manager eCommerce Commercial Strategy at adidas

As a Senior Manager Commercial Strategy at adidas you are responsible for ensuring the future growth of eCom EU is planned based on clear commercial principles that ensure that eCom remains the most premium store in the adidas ecosystem whilst also continuously exploring with our key business partners new commercial scenarios within those principles. This requires also education of key business partners in those principles, the tracking of adherence of current commercial execution to those principles and strong collaboration on new opportunities. The role is also critical in helping EU eCom to stay aligned with our Marketplace partners by tracking all key questions for alignment and status and coordinating multifunctional follow up when required, specifically when they could lead to scalable opportunities. The role leads also our education, implementation and operations of our problem framing methodologies across the Sales Planning & Analytics team as key method for driving synergy in finding future growth opportunities. You use these state of the art problem framing methods together with the director Commercial Planning & Execution to drive decisions by the EU eCom SMT to ensure most effective and efficient follow up on key business questions and opportunities.

With your role you help drive a culture in the pursuit of mid to long term growth opportunity identification & enablement.

You are an energetic and data driven bridge builder between our team and our business partners to identify and execute on new opportunities with fast paced and collaborative business opportunity follow up, where needed with business case or project management.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy

  • Review with key business partners and in close collaboration with our brand organization the commercial principles to be used for Y+1 and determine any changes that could fuel future growth whilst keeping eCom as the most premium store in the adidas ecosystem
  • Follow up on any potential changes with clear business cases and business simulations that allows data driven decision making by the SMT and the brand organization
  • Track execution of commercial strategy within agreed principles and course correct where needed

Problem Framing Methodology

  • Drive problem framing methodology implementation in the wider team: standardize on problem framing frameworks (intake process to drive to clear problem statements and solution directions), standardize on value driver modelling that allows prioritization of problem framing and educate the team on the correct usage.
  • Use the implementation to drive the overall problem statement backlog prioritization with the wider team and EU eCom SLT to ensure our resources are being used for the highest prioritized business problems/opportunities.

Marketplace alignment

  • Work with eCom cluster and analytics support partners in logging all business questions from the markets
  • Coordinate follow up on relevant questions that require multifunctional follow up from the wider Sales Planning & Analytics teams
  • Assess if there are commonalities in questions or opportunities in questions from markets that could be drivers for future growth
  • Provide regular updates to the SMT on marketplace topics
  • Support marketplace needs in eCom ambition planning

  • Very strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics with regards to opportunities to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely. With the ability to influence and achieve results
  • Fluent English both verbally and written.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial/operational processes and KPIs.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Business Case Management
  • Experience with analytics tools and disciplines.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of Business or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience in eCom environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial market positions and related decision making
  • Preference for candidates with previous Consultancy experience in matrix organizations
