Connect and convey IKEA's culture. That's what you'll do as people & culture manager at IKEA Amsterdam. Your work therefore goes beyond that of an HR manager. In this 36-40 hour position, you will create a working environment where IKEA's values really come to life. And you'll do so in the same corporate clothing as the employees in the shop. You will deal with questions such as: how do we ensure good employee development and a pleasant working environment? Because you also work shifts in the shop every week, you know exactly what is going on on the shop floor.

A day in your life with us

You will work within team People & Culture. As a manager, you will fulfil the role of strategic business partner and contribute to the further development of the business. You are therefore part of the management team and at the same time a sparring partner. You ensure that the people agenda is and stays on the MT's agenda. For instance, you are responsible for the local application of the recruitment strategy, sustainable employability of employees, good succession planning and much more. In this position, you combine thinking about vision and policy with its practical implementation. What else you will do:

  • Consult with the management team. You will discuss figures in the areas of absenteeism, recruitment and retention, what is going on in the shop and what is planned for the coming period.
  • Holding one-to-one meetings with managers from different departments; with them you go through various HR KPIs.
  • Drawing up a health and wellbeing plan based on various employee surveys, linking actions to it and then implementing or monitoring these yourself.
  • Monitoring the budget; in consultation with business navigation you ensure that the (personnel) costs remain within budget.
  • Participating as a shop manager. You make rounds, are alert to safety and ensure that everything in the shop runs smoothly.

Here, it is important that you can put yourself in the shoes of both management and employees. You also realise that you work in a changeable retail environment. Things sometimes go differently than planned. A flexible attitude, good time management and setting priorities are therefore important in your role. What else you need:

  • HBO-work and thinking level, for example by completing a HBO education in the field of HR or by relevant work experience.
  • At least 3 years' work experience in a similar role within the HR field.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • The motivation to also work evenings and sometimes weekends.
  • Living in the Netherlands, preferably in the Amsterdam area.

  • A gross monthly salary between 4458,- and 6755,- depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • A 13th month in December and 8% holiday pay in May.
  • A collective bonus scheme. This is determined annually and amounts to a maximum of 150% of your gross monthly salary.
  • Travel costs for public transport are reimbursed 100%. Do you travel by other means? Then you will receive an allowance for travel costs up to a maximum of EUR 243 per month.
  • 15% staff discount at all IKEA shops in the Netherlands.
  • Food at purchase price in the staff restaurant.
