Top 250 events intern

Rotterdam, 32-40 hours a week, start date: August/September

Are you ready to organize the annual event for the Top 250 fastest growing companies in the Netherlands?

Please note: Due to a shortage of student housing and to align with student visa requirements (if applicable), we require for your application to be considered that you are enrolled with a Dutch university (of applied sciences) or college, your internship is a required part of your study programme, and you should already be located in the Netherlands.

As an event management intern, you will support the organization of the largest scaleup event this fall. You will be involved in all facets of event management; from practical matters such as technology to decoration and catering, to marketing and communication to invited participants and overseeing the execution of the event on the day itself.

In addition to organizing the Top 250 event, there will also be room to be involved in other events, projects and activities. This will give you the opportunity to learn more about entrepreneurship, innovation and startups, we offer you the chance to get to know the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Rotterdam better and to build a network for your entrepreneurial career!

What you will work on:

  • The organization of the Top 250 event for the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands (and possibly other events);
  • Establishing and maintaining contacts with partners and suppliers;
  • Optimize the participant experience from start to finish incl. marketing and communication;
  • Occasionally support the coordination of our entrepreneurial training programs and (Top 250) research.

We offer you

  • A great, entrepreneurial internship experience;
  • The opportunity to develop yourself in an environment in which you are encouraged to take ownership and responsibility;
  • The possibility of learning in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, education and (international) project management;
  • The chance to work in an Entrepreneurial, Collaborative team that always strives for Excellence (in line with our core values E – C – E)
  • An inspiring workplace at Microlab Rotterdam among 100+ startups (including rooftop bar, mini golf and ping pong table);
  • A unique opportunity to expand your network with startups, experienced entrepreneurs, scientists, innovators and policymakers;
  • An internship compensation of €500 per month on a fulltime basis.

Are you someone who:

  • Mandatory for your application to be considered: you are enrolled with a Dutch educational institution, are studying event or facility management (or a similar direction) and your internship is a required part of your study programme. You are already located in the Netherlands;
  • Is available for four to six months, at least four days a week;
  • Is ambitious, entrepreneurial and can work independently;
  • Is social and has a positive mindset and attitude (looking at challenges as opportunities instead of problems!);
  • Has a hands-on mentality and likes to get things done;
  • Is proficient (speaking and writing) in Dutch and English (required);
  • An advantage: event management experience and an affinity for entrepreneurship and innovation or has worked at an incubator, startup community, or startup facilitator.
