About the Job

For our new Global Digital team we are looking for a Head of E-Commerce Sales. This is a very unique opportunity to be an entrepreneur within a new global set-up of the Digital Department of MediaMarkt Saturn. But be aware, you won't have your own team at first. So basically, it will be all up to you (!).

The Global Head of E-Commerce Sales Optimization will be responsible to create the blueprint for E-Commerce sales drivers: assortment, availability, pricing, Service & Solutions and margin/EBIT. In this position you need to establish an equalized digital maturity base across countries, collaborate with country ecommerce leaders/teams to understand and develop strategy per sales driver, identify status quo per digital sales driver per country and bring them to the level of the digital most advanced/best performing country. Next to that you will have the task to elevate the status quo per digital sales driver in collaboration with key stakeholders and need to implement this in all countries, you analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and our competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats. Based on that you will translate strategic objectives into actionable plans for implementation across local country teams. Furthermore you:

  • Leverage advanced analytics to monitor key commercial metrics, including assortment performance, pricing effectiveness, availability rates, attach rates, and margin.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to VP, highlighting areas of opportunity and risk.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that e-commerce strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Increasing the profitability of digital sales channel.
  • Understand and harmonize the operational E-commerce profit and loss (P&L).
  • Analyze and advice on the product mix, pricing, and promotional activities to optimize margin performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase the attach rate of complementary products and services to enhance overall transaction value.
  • Develop and execute strategies to decrease costs of digitals sales operation.

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or a related commercial role within a retail environment, preferably in consumer electronics.
  • Proven track record in managing key commercial drivers such as assortment, pricing, and margin in a global context.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making, including the use of analytics tools and techniques to optimize e-commerce performance.
  • Expertise in assortment planning, pricing strategy, and availability management.
  • Proficiency in using data analytics platforms and tools to drive insights and decision-making.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of retail and e-commerce economics, with a focus on driving profitability.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a data-driven mindset and attention to detail.
  • The ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans while also being hands-on with execution.
  • To be open to exploring new ideas and approaches to optimize commercial performance.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and regions.
