Manager, Operational Supplier Management at Vanderlande

Are you looking to develop your career in managing the Operational Supplier Management department of Supply Chain Center Europe and satisfy your ambitions at a company where you can aspire to new heights, enjoy personal growth, and thrive on achievement?

At Vanderlande, we are seeking passionate and ambitious professionals capable of making a positive impact on the supply chain while developing a prosperous career in a fast-paced international environment.

Your Responsibilities

As Manager, Operational Supplier Management, you are accountable for overseeing the performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of suppliers within the Supply Chain Center Europe. You will lead a team of Operational Supplier Coordinators and Buyers, ensuring that goods and services are supplied according to project requirements throughout the entire lifecycle of a Purchase Order—from creation and validation to supervision and settlement.

In your role, you will collaborate closely with Strategic Buyers by representing Supplier Management in category teams. Your team will focus on supplier performance management, onboarding, monitoring, and evaluating suppliers from an operational perspective. You will also drive improvements in supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with Vanderlande’s global supply chain strategy.

Additionally, you will define and monitor the execution of the short- and long-term roadmap for the department, contributing to the overall strategy of Supply Chain Center Europe. To achieve this, you will effectively deploy your team based on their competencies, coach them in their personal development, and manage resource availability in a dynamic project-driven environment.

Beyond team leadership, you will serve as the primary contact for continuous improvement initiatives within Europe. As part of a global Competence Owner team, you will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and enhancing globally adhered supplier management processes within the region. Moreover, you will play a key role in a company-wide program that is redesigning the global supply chain network—managing the impact, facilitating progress, and leading process improvements.

Your Qualifications and Skills

You thrive in a dynamic supply chain environment, excel at setting priorities, and are highly aware of the impact of your decisions. You are a proactive leader with strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of guiding your team through internal and external challenges.

If you are a results-driven, team-oriented, and resilient manager, you meet the following profile:

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a technical supply chain environment.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier performance and operational procurement processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, and remain calm under time pressure.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team.

What we offer

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 6.200 – € 7.400 per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.

On top of your fixed salary you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:

  • 40 vacation days (20 statutory days and a flexible budget worth 20 days).
  • Flexible working hours.
  • A hybrid workplace (40% working from home and 60% in the office).
  • A Health & Wellbeing budget worth €300,- per calendar year.
  • Commuting allowance, including full reimbursement of travel by public transport.
  • Working from home allowance.
  • Collective pension scheme and discount on additional health insurance.
  • On-site company health centres with a gym, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
  • Vanderlande Academy and training facilities to boost your skills.
