ABOUT THE VEGETARIAN BUTCHER

Meat to please you! At the Vegetarian Butcher we’re looking for new ‘meat on the block’ to join us in the biggest food revolution of all times.

On October 4th (world animal day) 2010 Jaap Korteweg, 9th generation farmer and meat lover, founded The Vegetarian Butcher. Together with a devoted team of chefs and scientists he created innovative and sustainable meat successors directly from beans and legumes. Great tasting meat products, perfect imeatations in flavor, texture and juiciness, but without the use of the animal.

We sacrifice nothing! This was the start of our mission: to become the biggest butcher in the world.

At our core we are the purpose-driven rebels who want to be the first and the best on the plant-based meat-market. We try to make our mission a reality through Craftmanship, Human(e) Connections, Entrepreneurship, Rebelliousness, Humour, Passion, Optimism, Sustainability and Pioneering.

By now we are present in roughly 55 markets, partnering with some of the biggest global (food) chains like Burger King, Subway, and Starbucks. In this journey we are expanding & growing, therefore we are looking for an International Sales & Business Development Manager who has the passion to change the world! We are excited to share that (pending consultation and regulatory approval) we expect to be joining forces with Vivera as next step in our Food Revolution.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUR “CHOP” TO BE DONE

  • Support in expanding The Vegetarian Butcher business globally in the foodservice space and Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) in particular
  • Manage and support of customer / partner relationships
  • Driving performance with and through our Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) customers
  • Develop and deliver key sales materials (e.g. proposals, pitch decks, presentations, analyses)
  • Co-lead marketing activations with existing customers: general awareness campaigns, trial, PR, and point of sales at their restaurants
  • Drive & support on generating new leads to establish new partnerships
  • Driving and creating new business models to deliver new customer partnerships
  • Identifying research topics & conduct research to increase relevancy to partners

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS 'CHOP':

  • Minimum relevant professional experience of 2-4 years is required, background in sales & business development or related fields is a plus
  • Project management skills in a high pace environment
  • Analytical & structured thinker
  • Strong consumer and customer focus / strong at customer contact
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and eager to develop new customer leads and driving new sales partnerships
  • Good negotiator: able to influence, also in informal decision structures
  • Teamwork, easily connecting with others and effective cross-functional collaborator
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, knowing how to manage and influence a broad group of stakeholders (internal and external), with many interaction points
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal) and fluency in English
  • Pro-active, “can-do” mindset
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment
