About us

Within Damen, the Damen Data Services team is a professional provider of high-quality data driven solutions & services and the enabler for digital transformation. Damen Data Services' mission is to create business value by data for Damen Shipyards by innovating the (digital) collaboration between colleagues, yards, ships, customers, and suppliers.

The Damen Data Services team is a new team and is on the journey to define, create and activate a ‘Human Led, Data Powered’ organization.

The role

The assignment has its focus on the following three key expertise areas: job matrix, career growth-path and career curriculum in the workspace of data and analytics.

This internship aims to assess if these roles within Data and Analytics are defined properly compared with our ORBA and/or Hay definitions.

When this has been made clear, the next step is to define a growth-path for these roles within their respective domains. There are many opportunities for taking on new responsibilities or taking the next step in these roles, but the guidelines are missing. Finally, defining a curriculum for these colleagues that work within the domains of data and analytics is the last step to conclude the assignment. With this, the job matrix should be clarified and will give a foundation for internal use. Hence, this role will be very practical and have a tangible outcome at the end of the project.

Key accountabilities

You will be responsible for the research of this project within the scope of the data and analytical functions within Damen. Through conducting interviews, desk research and cross-referencing the outcome and discussing what the data says, we want to have a clear overview by the end of the year.

Supervisory and support will be given by Bart Ziemerink (Head of Damen Data Services).

Skills & Experience

At least several skills/experiences from the following list are required to be considered:

• You are a Bachelor student, enrolled in a HR related study, with high affinity and knowledge about Data.
• You are able to work at the Gorinchem location, seeing as you will be conducting interviews on site.
• You are available at the earliest convenience
• Proficient in the Office package (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Good command of Dutch and English, especially in writing.
