Industrial Engineering Internship: 5S Implementation in Manufacturing

Within the Manufacturing Quality department of ASML, we have a nice internship opportunity for you. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive intern to help improve our 5S implementation in a shared manufacturing space. Your work will contribute to a more structured, efficient, and safe work environment.

Your Assignment

As an intern focused on 5S, you will assess the current state of our shared location, identify areas for improvement, and develop practical solutions to improve our way of working. Your main tasks will include:

• Assess the current 5S implementation in the shared manufacturing space;
• Engage with employees from different departments to understand challenges and requirements;
• Analyze best practices in 5S methodology and suggest improvements;
• Develop a structured plan to enhance workplace organization and efficiency;
• Implement practical solutions and support change adoption.
• Present findings and recommendations to management;

This is a Bachelor/ Master apprentice internship for 3 to 6 months, 4-5 days per week (3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible or at latest around September.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

• Are busy with your bachelor's or master's in Industrial Engineering and/or Management or a related field;
• Have knowledge of 5S principles and lean methodologies;
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Are proactive and have a hands-on attitude;
• Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
• You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
