Industrial Engineering Internship: Cost Breakdown

Introduction

The Electronic Development Infrastructure group for DUV systems in ASML owns bundles with cables, fibers, and supporting mechanics which implement connections between project modules for XT and NXT machines. The group has knowledge on connectivity and machine layout, and they implement connections for other projects enabling all stakeholders to focus on their own expertise.

Your assignment

In this assignment, you will do a cost breakdown on Electronic Development DUV infrastructure deliverables and define opportunities to reduce cost.

As part of your internship, you will:

  • Plan steps like assess current status of cost;
  • Create new cost breakdown
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs with help of stakeholders;
  • Propose alternative solutions;

This is a bachelor thesis or master apprentice internship with a duration of 6-9 months for 3-5 days per week. The start date is flexible (latest starting date is September 2025).

Your profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are studying Industrial engineering or Electrical engineering;
  • Have knowledge/understanding of economics;
  • Have good research skills;
  • Have experience with stakeholder management;
  • Can handle e-complexity as this topic is quite generic.

Other requirements you need to meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to be able to perform your internship. In case you’re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
