Introduction

Within ASML, the Development & Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification and design of ASML products. The Mechatronics & Measurement department is accountable for specification, design, integration, and qualification of the mechatronics sub-systems and components which are fitted into the complete systems. The department's main focus is on nanometer-accuracy positioning of high-speed components. Control engineering, dynamics, actuator design, position measurement systems, and material handling are part of this department’s main competences.

Your Assignment

The Wafer Stage Viewer tool is diagnostics software created by ASML to assist various fields and D&E sectors in troubleshooting system issues, analyzing machine data, and training new hires. In this internship, you will work closely with your mentor and creator of the Wafer Stage Viewer tool to extend the reticle stage part and introduce improvements. Some of your main tasks will involve:

  • Integrate more functionality in the viewer tool to utilize CAD drawings from NX Teamcenter (improved graphics and tool accuracy);
  • Add the new functionality to improve existing graphics for NXE and EXE reticle stage and handler;
  • Extend the EXE reticle stage and handler tool to the remaining subsystems;
  • Add diagnostics features to the EXE reticle stage and handler;

The above tasks will be split into phases and prioritized in consultation with mentors.

This is a Bachelor apprentice internship for 5 to 6 months, 4-5 days per week (3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible, or at the latest around September.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are busy with your bachelor's in Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related;
  • Are skilled in C/C++ or preferably in Pascal;
  • Possess basic knowledge in robotic kinematics and Maths;
  • Have knowledge of CAD SW and 3D parts, preferably in NX;
  • Are proactive, self-propelling, and communicative;
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
