Your Profile and Background

  • Technical expertise, offshore experience, practical application: Strong engineering background (BSc or higher) with 10+ years of experience in the execution of offshore platform T&I works.
  • Project management, contractor coordination, process understanding: Experienced in complex projects and skilled in technical project and contractor management.
  • Communication, leadership, collaboration, influencing skills: Excellent communicator and team player, with the ability to influence, challenge, and motivate both contractors and internal teams.
  • Initiative, decisiveness, stakeholder sensitivity, ownership: Proactive and self-driven, with strong judgment, stakeholder awareness, and a hands-on attitude.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, commitment, mobility: Flexible and mobile, willing to travel internationally (approx. 1 week/month), work offshore during installation campaigns, and split time between office (Arnhem), home, and offshore locations.
  • Problem solving, learning agility, language skills, motivation: Problem-solver with a learning mindset, fluent in English (Dutch is a plus), and motivated to grow in all aspects of offshore project execution.

Your Contribution to TenneT

TenneT department Large Projects Offshore Netherlands in Arnhem is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sub Project Lead Transport & Installation (T&I) for one of our offshore substation projects under an EPCI contract. As Sub Project Lead T&I, you will manage and supervise all T&I activities carried out by the contractor and its subcontractors, ensuring compliance with TenneT’s requirements and contract obligations. You will be involved throughout all project phases—from design to offshore completion—covering the T&I of 5 jackets (10,000t) and 5 topsides (30,000t). You will contribute to the goals of TenneT’s 2GW program, working closely with the overall project team. You are responsible for delivering on safety (SHE), time, quality, and cost, and report directly to the Project Lead Platform.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Project control, contract management, risk awareness: Oversee the EPCI contractor to ensure safe and successful completion of T&I design and execution, meeting contractual, scheduling, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Technical insight, detail focus, decision making: Lead the document review process for your discipline, including reviewing critical documents personally.
  • Stakeholder management, compliance, negotiation: Manage the contract and operations of the Marine Warranty Surveyor.
  • Communication, collaboration, regulatory knowledge: Ensure alignment with the Certifying Authority on all T&I-related matters.
  • Coordination, teamwork, organization: Coordinate internal and external communication and interfaces related to T&I activities.
  • Leadership, safety focus, accountability: Serve as the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, while supporting the implementation of Safety by Design.

This Will Be Our Challenge

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
