Join O’Neill as a Website Manager

It's an amazing time to join O’Neill as we are riding the wave of change. Rise to your potential and help us take our legacy into the future.

Do you have great interest in e-commerce, experience in website development, optimizing the user experience, and would you like to work for The Original California Surf brand O’Neill? Then we are looking for you! We're looking for a new Website Manager that lives and breathes the surf and snow lifestyle ready for the challenge of working with the world's first surf company.

The job

As Website Manager, you own the strategic and day-to-day development of all oneill.com websites, with the goal of optimizing the user journey and driving e-commerce growth across multiple markets. You act as Product Owner, managing a continuous stream of improvements based on business goals, customer insights, and technical feasibility. You report to the E-Commerce Manager and work closely with teams across marketing, CRM, content, and development.

Key Responsibilities

Website Strategy & Product Ownership

  • Own and manage the website development roadmap across all O'Neill markets.
  • Act as Product Owner, prioritizing initiatives and managing the backlog in close alignment with stakeholders.
  • Identify new opportunities through data, market trends, and user feedback, translating these into impactful website improvements.
  • Ensure the right tools and technology are in place to support performance (e.g. Shopify apps, UX tooling, personalization, etc.).
  • Align website initiatives with broader e-commerce, CRM, and marketing strategies to create a seamless digital experience.
  • Localize and tailor website experiences to regional market needs and user behavior.
  • Optimize mobile experiences with a mobile-first approach.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and coach a cross-functional team, including a Visual Merchandiser and UX Designer, to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (CRM, content, SEO, brand) and external partners (developers, payment providers, 3rd parties) to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery.
  • Keep stakeholders informed and engaged with the website roadmap, timelines, and impact.
  • Promote accessibility and inclusivity by following design and compliance best practices.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Continuously analyze website performance and core KPIs (conversion, site speed, checkout success, etc.).
  • Run A/B tests and user research to validate hypotheses and guide optimization efforts.
  • Ensure SEO requirements are met in collaboration with internal SEO specialists, supporting the growth of organic reach.
  • Ensure data collection and usage is GDPR-compliant and leverages analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Hotjar for insights.
  • Automate reporting processes and maintain easy-to-access dashboards for key stakeholders.

Budget & Operations

  • Manage the website development budget, allocating resources to the most valuable initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate contracts within the scope of authorization.
  • Ensure all activities are executed within budget and align with the yearly business plan.

Who are you?

  • Passionate about e-commerce, technology, fashion, and digital customer experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in E-commerce, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a digital or e-commerce environment.
  • Proven experience with CMS and e-commerce platforms (Shopify is a strong plus).
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing external development partners.
  • Skilled in Google Analytics, Hotjar, Excel, and experimentation tools (e.g. Webtrend Optimize).
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); German, Dutch or French is a plus.

Who will you work for?

O'Neill was founded in Northern California with one simple mission—to surf longer. Over seven decades later, that mission remains at the core of our brand, inseparable from the history of surf itself. Powered by ongoing innovation, we continue to reinvent the O'Neill wetsuit—the original wetsuit, a game-changing invention—and design functional and versatile surf- and snow-gear and lifestyle apparel that enables our customers to enjoy their playground longer. As a brand created to enjoy nature, we see it as our responsibility to actively preserve it and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world. Our Ocean Mission is how we stay close to Jack O'Neill's original words: "The ocean is alive, and we've got to take care of it".

What do we offer?

  • A challenging position in an international, dynamic and young environment;
  • Short communication lines and a creative place to work;
  • A Health & Wellbeing program, for example HIIT & Yoga opportunities in the office and an Individual Wellbeing budget to spend;
  • 25 holidays, with an option to ‘buy’ 5 extra;
  • Staff discount and sample sales. 😊

Interested?

We look forward to receiving your application!

O’Neill, the original Northern California surf, snow, and lifestyle brand, was founded in 1952 by Jack O’Neill with one simple mission—to surf longer. Building on the legacy of the world’s first neoprene wetsuit and Jack's vision of creating functional and innovative products, O’Neill continues to enable and inspire people to enjoy their playground longer and continue to do what they love doing most.
