Join us as a R&D Food Safety Regulatory Intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht starting in September 2025! In this internship, you will work with the Global Quality and Food Compliance team to support the chemical contaminant monitoring program in EU and other regions that has potential impacts on food safety and quality standards as well as regulatory requirements.

Your key activities will be the following for coffee, tea, and other ingredients, for the main markets JDE Peet's operates in:

• 📚 Conduct literature research on relevant legislation and industry guidelines on chemical contaminants monitoring.
• 📖 Conduct literature research on any upcoming regulatory changes for auto controls for industry and assess impact for business.
• 🔬 Assist in the development of chemical contaminant monitoring protocols, including data analysis.
• 🧪 Assist in the mapping of analytical methods and challenges for chemical contaminant monitoring.
• 📊 Prepare presentations and reports on research findings, monitoring activities, and recommendations for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Are you bursting with fresh ideas and a hunger for learning? We want you! 🌟

Here's what we're looking for:

• 🎓 Academic Program: You are enrolled in a MSc program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in (i) Food Safety or (ii) Food Science with courses in food safety or analytical methods in your curriculum.
• 💻 Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English – Having some similar hands-on experience with food research activities is always a benefit.
• 💬 Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently. You have a strong interest in food safety and regulatory affairs.
• ⏳ Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from September 2025 to February 2026.
• 🗓️ Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including four days in-office and one day remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.

• 🌍 You are either an EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU(EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
