We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager Strategic Planning for our Planning Division in Amsterdam.

Your impact at MUFG
- Implement or support implementation and manage projects related to MUFG-wide strategic initiatives. This includes: responsible for specific project workstream execution and delivery of outcomes, active solution design, plan development and implementation, manage inputs and requirements across resources, monitor achievement, escalate risks, manage assumptions and actions, ensure dependencies identified and cross workstream collaboration takes place.
- Design MUFG-wide business strategy and plan, and create subsequent strategic initiatives to pursue the corporate vision of MUFG and to fulfil expectations from various stakeholders.
- Develop future target operating model that aligns with strategic objectives, drive efficiency and support business growth.
- Identify and assess strategic risks associated with the business strategy, in cooperation with the second line of defence.
- The role will report to the Head of Strategic Planning, who reports directly into the Head of Planning Division of MUFG.
The role includes the following:
- Implement some of the key corporate wide strategic initiatives or support implementation of the initiatives for responsible divisions, playing a role of (assistant) project manager, ensuring these are delivered on time within the set budget and that all planned business benefits are subsequently captured.
- Design business model /strategy, and formulate the bank-wide business plan in pursuit of achieving all the expectations from key stakeholders. This requires close collaboration with colleagues in London and Tokyo to ensure alignment with MUFG’s global strategy.
- Provide management with a wide range of information, proposals, and support to set forth corporate business strategy, plan, and initiatives.
- Support creating communication strategy and plan for the announcement of the business strategy and plan or to update the progress of the plan and the initiatives.
- Actively develop and maintain a wide range of contacts both internally and externally in order to obtain / exchange information, identify and establish best practice and where appropriate ascertain further customer requirements.
- Identify and assess strategic risk associated with the business plan and the initiatives. Introduce appropriate risk management framework, co-working with the functions in the second line of defence, and propose company’s appetite for the captured risks.
- Ensure compliance with the MUFG’s common & internal rules, standards, and reporting requirements, together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, where appropriate implementing actions to protect MUFG at all times.
- In order to fulfil the assignment, if necessary and allowed, retain contractors or third-party consultants and form team to create/submit/offer deliverables.
In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:
- The function requires an intellectual and working background at HBO level.
- Experience in a similar function or relevant area.
- Profound knowledge, skills, and experience in the development of corporate/business strategy and project management particularly in the domain of banking/financial services.
- Strong understanding of the structure and set-up of corporate banks and/or securities businesses.
- Prior experience developing future target operating model that aligns with strategic objectives and design principles.
- Prior experience managing strategic change and transformation in a financial services environment.
- Strong spirit of commitment to be present, achieve the target in timely manner with promised quality.
- Ability to work across cultures i.e. comprehend and adapt to different cultural situations and perspectives.
- Excellent communication skill with relevant parties, including senior leaders in Europe as well as Tokyo to manage and move things forward among various stakeholders.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Verbal and written business communication skills in English, and preferably the same level of the skill in Japanese.
