About us
Thales Hengelo's Naval organization is built around six segments. This includes the Services Segment where all knowledge, experience and activities come together to provide all forms of product life cycle management for Thales-NL solution. Whether it concerns complex combat management systems or standalone radar systems, the Service segment has the capabilities to deliver customized Logistic and In-Service Support solutions to its customers. Within the Services segment, around 200 employees work day and night to continuously optimize the operational availability of our customers' systems.

About the team

The In-Service Support department within the Services Segment includes the disciplines bids, products and projects. As Service Architect Manager, you are part of a team with enthusiastic Service Architects. As a Service Architect you are able to support our customers worldwide with customer-oriented Service solutions. Furthermore, you are a member of a multi-disciplinary product team and responsible for defining and offering (in consultation with the Sales department) Service solutions for your assigned products.

About the job
The Service Architect Manager (SAM) represents the services discipline in Product Teams and is responsible for defining the through-life service solution of our products. The service offering is defined based on customer needs (established through discussions or as formulated in a Request for Information/Request for Quotation), Thales’ technical product roadmap, standardized services portfolio, services strategy and lessons learnt during other projects. The SAM also contributes to new service business development, new product development, and to the improvement and development of the standard services portfolio. More specifically, the key tasks of the SAM are:

  • Representing the Services discipline in Product Team(s). Responsible for the services aspects in the product plan, such as services business potential, lifecycle phase transitions, etc., considering the current installed base and the future development of the installed base. Defining the Lifecycle Program for the product.
  • During the bid phase, defining the proposal documents, cost, statement of work, statement of compliance of the service offer.
  • Occasional visits to customer sites in support of bids.
  • Contribute to the services business development for the product, in cooperation with the acquisition team (e.g Sales). Contributing to customer visits, presentations and workshops about lifecycle topics.
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of standardized service packages of products.
  • During new product developments, defining enablers for service deliverables and activities.
  • Monitor customer complaints w.r.t. the product and feeding them back into the organisation.
  • Inform customers about Life Cycle stages of the product and the consequences for support aspects.
  • Initiate and manage the generation of Service Letters related to the product.

About you
The Service Architect Manager:

  • Has strong feeling for how to bring value to the customer during the product lifecycle.
  • Able to find a balance between the desire to standardize the service portfolio and the need to tailor a solution to the customer’s needs.
  • Strong communicational skills.
  • Able to work in multi-departmental teams and organize/delegate actions towards the desired outcome.
  • Preferably has experience in the domain of Services, Logistic Engineering, proposal management, asset management.
  • Can work under pressure.
  • Curious, with a desire to improve the Services roadmap and strategy based on market needs and lessons learnt.
  • Shows interest in a large variety of topics, e.g. technology, services, training, supply chain etc.
  • Is able to operate in a flexible environment.
