About the team

The Naval Industry team is responsible and accountable for the on-time production and delivery of the Thales Naval products within cost and first-time right. To realize this, the Naval Industry team is strongly and closely cooperating with the other departments (e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Product Segments) within Thales Naval. As Thales Naval, we foster a strong growth in demand for our products, and to secure this growth, the Industry organization will become production line oriented to support the serial production. For that reason, we are looking for an Industry Manager Products.

About your future job

As Industry Manager Products, you will lead a team of production line managers and have a dual focus on customer satisfaction and the performance of your department. You will be responsible for the functional management of the entire ecosystem within your area of authority. You will deploy the Industrial strategy, including the human, financial, and physical resources needed to ensure proper implementation of the policies and plans adopted in the short, medium, and long term.

With your strong production management skills and experience, you will guide and coach your team to secure a safe working environment with a strong focus on On-time-Delivery, within Cost, and with the right quality. All based on a continuous improvement mentality.

In your position, you will, as Industry MT member, contribute to the current change process the department and organization are in.

This position will be the key driver to secure that within 5 years, Naval Industry will be a competitive, reliable & predictable, and agile world-class competence center, driven by close collaboration with internal and external partners to reach maximum customer satisfaction and goals.

In this position, you will report to the Naval Industry Competence Center Director.

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Implement the industrial strategy and in particular the human organization, the financial and material means which guarantee the proper execution of the policies and plans adopted.
  • Maintain delivery performance, integrating local coordination with representatives from the functional areas.
  • Coach, develop, and adapt the skills of your team.
  • Manage the operational and financial performance of his or her area of activity.
  • Sponsor and promote the LEAN transformation approach (CLPF, Andon & KAIZEN, Gemba) and put the organization on a path of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that industrial assets are compatible with future needs and the proper level of investment (CAPEX) is proposed.

Why you'd be a good match

  • Completed a Bachelor or Master;
  • Several years of experience as production manager, preferably in an assembly environment;
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and use of management tools;
  • Pro-active, accurate, and solution-oriented;
  • Soft/interpersonal skills and ability to coach;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Dutch and English mandatory;
  • Certification APICS CPIM is nice to have
