Job Description:

What will you do?

As an Application Manager Payments, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a functional, stable, and customer-centric IT environment for both our customers and employees. You will manage all payment systems under your care, collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders (both internal and external) in the payment and operations chain.

  • You manage all systems that fall under your care. You do this from a complete end-to-end perspective with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) in the payment/operations chain;
  • You will coach and mentor your team colleagues, coordinate activities, and support Agile methodologies within the team;
  • Your goal is to prevent incidents and ensure the quality and continuity of IT business services, while swiftly addressing any issues that arise. This role may occasionally require work outside of standard business hours;
  • You will proactively look ahead, focusing on Life Cycle Management and continuously improving our IT landscape;
  • You will also be involved in IT changes and projects, ensuring the successful final acceptance of these initiatives;
  • Strong communication with business clients is essential, particularly regarding incidents, problems, and changes. You will make IT more transparent and accessible to them.

Your team

You will be part of the Corporate Banking and Treasury IT (CBT-IT) Department, which provides end-to-end IT support and development for our corporate asset classes. CBT-IT also manages Payments applications for all NIBC asset classes and Treasury applications. Our team embraces Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Within CBT-IT, you will join the Payments IT Team, responsible for maintaining seamless payment operations. We make sure all payment streams run flawless and prevent issues or solve them quickly. We continuously innovate and enhance our IT landscape through various projects and changes. Our systems include a Payment Hub, SWIFT, and a Reconciliation application.

The CBT-IT Department is a multidisciplinary team with diverse ages, nationalities, and backgrounds. We foster an informal, collegial, and inclusive atmosphere, where respect, trust and appreciation are core values.

What do you bring?

You are the vital link between Business and IT. Your expertise and knowledge adds value, and your strong communication skills, creativity, entrepreneurship, empathy, and teamwork will drive success. You are inquisitive and understand the human aspect of technology. You will share your knowledge effectively, working with both external vendors and employees.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree;
  • IT focus, preferably with a technical background;
  • In-depth knowledge of SWIFT components/landscape;
  • Affinity and knowledge of payment and reconciliation processes within and outside a bank;
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in managing information systems in the payments process and payment hubs/factories;
  • Experience in an Agile environment (Kanban / Scrum);
  • Ability to drive improvements and propose new developments;
  • Passion for solving incidents and make sure they don’t happen again;
  • You keep cool in stressful times;
  • Capability to coach and support colleagues;
  • Fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch.
