Exciting opportunity in the Legal Department!

Contracts & Rights Coordinator

IBFD’s Legal & Compliance department is dedicated to support business stakeholders on all legal aspects within the company. From contract management to GDPR, from enterprise risk management to corporate housekeeping, from labour conditions to reproduction policies and so on.

The department further consists of a Legal Counsel and a Compliance Coordinator and reports to the Manager Finance & Legal.

We are seeking a Contracts & Rights Coordinator to join our team for 4-5 days a week. This role focuses on maintenance of our policies on reproduction and contract management as well as all inquiries related to publishing contracts, IP rights and the reuse of IBFD content. The role is crucial in ensuring that our licensing and publishing agreements are up-to-date and compliant with current laws and trends.

Main responsibilities

  • Draft and review various types of licensing and publishing agreements and manage the sign-off of these agreements.
  • Act as point of contact and build and maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, managing inquiries with a first class customer service led approach, such as:
    • assisting publishers with licensing deals for the reuse and translation of IBFD content;
    • handling inquiries from authors regarding their contracts and rights;
    • managing permission requests for the reproduction of copyrighted material.
  • Conduct regular checks for potential copyright infringements.
  • Stay informed about changes in copyright law and rights trends.
  • Timely and accurately apply necessary changes in related policies and standard contracts.
  • Participate in and jointly coordinate ad-hoc projects as they arise.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an international publishing environment or externally servicing such environment.
  • Knowledge of Dutch/EU copyright and other relevant Intellectual Property laws.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an international solution-focused mindset.
  • Strong and effective communication (in English), interpersonal and influencing skills, an ability to build successful working relationships at all levels and to explain legal issues in plain language.
