Business Unit Eurofins Spinnovation in Oss is a GMP certified contract laboratory for the (bio)tech and pharma industry. The Business Unit (with approximately 20 employees) offers analytical services to the pharmaceutical, as well as the biotech industry. Eurofins Spinnovation is part of the Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Benelux.

Job Description

Managing (P&L responsibility) a Business Unit of 20+ employees that offers NMR, spend media, solid state characterisation and root cause investigation analytical services to clients in the biotech and pharma industry. A substantial part of the organization is highly educated (MSc and PhD).

The Business Unit is part of Eurofins’ Benelux pharma division, and collaborates with regional departments such as BD, HR and IT, and with the global Eurofins organization. There is ample scope for growth by:

1. Continuing to provide excellent service levels
2. Further tapping into the (inter)national markets by collaborating with regional and global sales and marketing teams
3. Increasing collaboration with global key accounts
4. Further expansion of the service/technology portfolio

The responsibilities include:

• Strategy & business development: Define the Business Unit’s strategy within the broader Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing context and identify new opportunities for Spinnovation. You work in collaboration with Business Development Managers and business leaders on an international level in order to advise clients and develop new business opportunities.
• Research & development: Define and improve the technical, scientific and service portfolio aspects by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques.
• Financial planning & execution: P&L responsible for the Business Unit. Prepare the financial budget of the Business Unit in cooperation with the internal stakeholders.
• Coordination & change management: Coordination of the operational team, by setting goals (KPI’s), identifying problems, organizing workflows and leading organizational projects.
• EHS & regulatory processes: Involved as stakeholder in the implementation and compliance of relevant certificates and regulation (GMP, ISO).

Qualifications

The Successful Applicant

• Is strong in managing complex operations (extensive laboratory or pharma experience required);
• Is an experienced leader, and able to develop an organization;
• Is business minded, entrepreneurial, with a drive for innovation;
• Is able to identify and leverage benefits and synergies in a larger organization;
• Knowledge of solids state characterization is considered a plus;
• Has not yet reached the peak of his/her career;
• Fluent in Dutch & English;
• Experience with P&L responsibility preferred (but not required);
• Master of Science, or PhD, in the field of analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related.
