Your impact at MUFG

The Project Manager will oversee and drive the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects within Human Resources. This role involves planning, implementing, and managing projects that span across the EU, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders, and adhering to local regulatory requirements. This role requires a focused approach to managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, and strong stakeholder communication skills.

The role includes the following:

Main functions

  • Project Planning and Implementation: Plan, implement, and manage projects for Human Resources across the EU. Take ownership of initiatives as directed by the HR Head for MBE.
  • Project Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Governance and Reporting: Establish and oversee local project governance frameworks (ensuring alignment to regional/global frameworks), ensuring consistent and transparent reporting to stakeholders on project status, risks, and progress.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with SMEs and stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Communication: Collaborating with Corporate Communications, develop and deliver clear communication plans and project updates to various audiences, providing a compelling narrative to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Resource Management: Support the Head of HR with overseeing resources, ensuring they are fully dedicated, engaged, and understand their responsibilities within the project.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, facilitating resolution and maintaining project momentum. Ensure administrative, operational, and control activities comply with MUFG’s rules, procedures, and local regulatory bodies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Leverage best practice tools and techniques, and ensure compliance with organizational standards and methodologies.
  • Collaboration Enhancement: Support and drive collaboration with SMEs and stakeholders within a large global matrix operating model.

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Proven track record of project management.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a global matrix organisation.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously within a large global matrix organisation, ideally within HR but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for different audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop robust business cases and monitor project performance.
  • Interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of global stakeholders.
