Functional Application Manager Asset Based Financing

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Functional Application Manager (FAM) to join our Asset Based Financing team at NIBC. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, analysis, and enhancement of our application environment from both functional and technical perspectives. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer expectations. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to identify and implement high-value solutions that enhance our Asset Based Financing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
  • Liaise between the user community and the IT infrastructure, ensuring effective communication and understanding of user needs;
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure service quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
Business Analysis:
  • Gather and analyze functional and technical requirements from stakeholders and key users;
  • Drive the development and improvement of applications influenced by technology updates or user needs.
Configuration Management & Operational Responsibilities:
  • Administer day-to-day operations to ensure service continuity, recovery, security, and performance;
  • Perform regular maintenance on applications and databases, following the Agile way of working.
Test & Change Management:
  • Document, test, and validate data/process for change management;
  • Manage the life cycle and release management of applications.
Incident & Problem Management:
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations;
  • Proactively protect the confidentiality, integrity, and security of NIBC information assets.
User Support & Training:
  • Provide user support and customization within the SAAS applications (Fen-X, ACBS, and Hyarchis);
  • Coach key users in application usage and promote a culture of security and responsibility.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Consult on continuous improvements as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for users;
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and high-value solutions that align with organizational goals.

You will be part of an engaged and multi-talented Asset Based Financing team (10fte) that is part of the overarching Corporate Banking IT team. The ABF team facilitates both the Operations (incl. KYC) and Asset Based Financing domain. It is in our nature to cooperate, complement and reinforce each other. The social relationships in the Asset Based Financing team are strong and there is ample room for personal development. What do you bring?

Required:
  • 2–5 years of experience as an Application Manager with a T-shape profile (Business analyst, configuration, testing)
  • Affinity with IT and banking systems
  • Experience working Agile (Scrum, Kanban), using Agile tools (e.g. JIRA)
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Desired:
  • Knowledge & experience with KYC applications, Lending applications, DMS
  • Knowledge & experience in the banking or financial services sector
  • A proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing actionable solutions
  • High motivation to develop and maintain expertise in your domain
  • Passion for innovation and delivering high-value solutions aligned with organizational goals and customer expectations
  • Understanding of business domains operations
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate requirements and facilitate stakeholder collaboration, both in Dutch and English
