SUS - Manager Sustainability Assurance

Sustainability has been high on the agendas of many companies for years. From Climate Change, Biodiversity, Circularity, equal opportunities for people and other human rights issues up to Governance. Companies are expected to measure and report on their sustainability performance, driven by the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Your challenges

As a Manager within the KPMG Sustainability Reporting & Assurance team, you will find yourself at the forefront of sustainability assurance and reporting, collaborating with a diverse range of top-tier national and international clients alongside a team of dedicated ESG professionals. Along with your team you will work on those projects, assuring the company’s information on several environmental and social topics.

This is what you bring

  • You work with colleagues (from different departments and countries) on assignments for multiple international clients.
  • You are a spider in the web between the client, colleagues, and specialists in various fields such as CO2 emissions, climate risk, and human rights.
  • You manage teams and are responsible for daily operational management of the larger sustainability assurance and reporting projects.
  • You act as the linking pin between KPMG and the client whilst maintaining business contact with different stakeholders.
  • You lead teams in which increasingly AI-supported tools are applied in our operational tasks.
  • You contribute to and co-lead business development and conversations with clients on sustainability reporting & assurance topics.
  • Your focus and mindset are to make a difference.
  • An academic (WO) Master's degree in a relevant field. A minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in the field of assurance and/or ESG.
  • A Postmaster Register Accountant training (or equivalent such as CPA) is a plus, but not a must-have.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbally).
  • Fluency in Dutch is a plus, but not necessary.
  • The ability to coach more junior colleagues.
  • Experience in independently carrying out (assurance) assignments as a team leader and you have consultancy skills.
  • Commercial and conceptual thinking.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
* These requirements give a direction of the profile we are looking for for this position. Do you not meet all the requirements but think this is the position for you? Then we kindly invite you to apply.

What will you do in this position?

Following a comprehensive onboarding process, you will integrate into our network, actively contributing to the realization of our clients' ambitions worldwide. Besides working on client projects, you will work on thought leadership, receive training on personal development and content knowledge and experience all social benefits that come with being in a fast-paced KPMG department. In your role you inspire, motivate and coach the teams and contribute to the larger group's development.

This is what we offer

  • A competitive salary, profit distribution, a fixed expense allowance and a home working allowance.
  • 30 vacation days (on a full-time basis) and the option to buy more days or to sell your vacation days.
  • A fully equipped home workplace.
  • A lease car and NS business card OR mobility allowance.
  • A laptop and iPhone that you can also use privately.
  • A flexible pension without compulsory personal contribution.
  • An extensive range of training and education that contribute to your professional and personal development.
  • Attention to vitality! Exercise at the office in Amstelveen or a discount at a gym near you and access to coaching, health and vitality programs.
  • 'Together' is one of our core values. You can therefore count on various social activities such as team outings, drinks and events together with your colleagues.

Application procedure

Step 1. Your application

Have you applied? Then you will receive an invitation for the KPMG Talent Pitch immediately after your application. In the Talent Pitch, we not only get to know you, but you also get to know us better. We will also give you a tour of the world of KPMG. During the pitch, you will complete a personality questionnaire and take an aptitude test.

Step 2. The first interview

After completing the KPMG Talent Pitch, we will invite you for a first interview with a recruiter. In some cases, a colleague from the relevant department will also be present at the interview. This interview is a mutual introduction, where you also get the chance to ask all the questions you probably have.

Step 3. Follow-up interview

Did you have a positive conversation and are you still enthusiastic? If we also see a match, a second meeting will follow. In this second interview, we will delve deeper into the role and the substantive themes you will be dealing with. You may be asked to prepare a business case for the interview. Sometimes there is a final interview.

Step 4. Offer

Is there a match? Then we will make you an offer and hopefully you will start at KPMG soon. The offer will not only include your salary but also all our employment conditions, such as your pension, vacation days, and more! Do you agree with our offer? Then we congratulate you as our new colleague and take the last step.

Step 5. Screening

We want to be an integral and reliable organization in all respects, so we screen everyone who comes to work with us. Validata conducts this screening and checks references, among other things. Everything in order? The path to a great career at KPMG is open to you. You will then start with the onboarding program.
